This one comes up pretty often. The three railer in the side is not very favorable in this case due to the cueball position and too much angle. Straightening up off the third rail at that angle would be tough.

Cut the one back across up the table and back down with extreme high right with slight elevation to beat any kisses. You can add a little more elevation if you aren't playing to make the ball in the side. This is really a pretty safe shot because of the spin on the cueball in this case going "away" from the pocket as you make the ball in the side.

I'd say this is no worse than a 60% shot with a little practice and I'd play it especially if I were needing 2 or more balls for the game. This really isn't all that aggressive especially if you are down.

Uuuuummm...If you can hit this shot 60% of the time, you should probably do VERY well at Derby City! Making either ball is not easy...both of them is not only not easy, but fairly tough (my def. of 'fairly tough' would put it in the 25% at best catagory).

I kno you are never supposed to call anyone's bank bluff it they are from L'ville, but puhlease!@!
 
Scott, I agree, 60% on that shot for even the best bankers in the world is unlikely... Talk is cheap, I'd like to see a video of anyone making that shot 6 out of ten consecutive shots! Highly doubtful!!
 
Interesting shot,and not one that would come to mind very quickly for me.

The way the diagram looks,the cue ball will contact the one as the one contacts the rail.Pretty difficult variable to overcome at the start of already difficult shot.Add to that the reasonably extreme english coupled with the speed needed to carry this ball 18 ft on a 9er and well....yeah,this one aint no 60%er for anyone on the planet me thinks.

I agree- a hi-level shot for sure. It could only come to us from a L'ville AZBr!

Which ball are you calling in this shot, the 1 or the 15?

It looks like you would have to knock the $hit out of the 1 ball to get it to go 2 table lengths, hitting that thinly? Maybe even hard enough to send the cue ball flying into the next county?

You are playing the one ball two rails in the corner. You are making the 15 then, which will spot at end of turn. You then shoot the 14 in on your next shot to cause two balls to spot and you leave the player up table with no real return safety.
