A question about custom cues

Actually 2 questions:

How can I be sure a stick isn't stolen?
How can I be sure it's not a chinese knockoff?

I bought two sticks from a guy who bought them at an estate sale. I thought I had made a good purchase at $500 for the pair. I'm certainly no expert, but they looked like quality cues to me. One has the GinaCue logo and the other says Schick 1999. I'm told there are asian knockoffs out there too, hence my nervousness.

Any ideas on how to go?

Take detailed pictures of the logos on the cues, the bumper, the joint, the pin
and then take a pic of the shafts where the cues go together and post them in
this thread or in the main forum where most people browse. Most people on
here will tell you what they know and what they can do for you. Send me two
cents as payment and this will officially be considered an item in the wanted/for
sale section. :thumbup2:

If you paid $500 for the pair and they are legit you stole those!

I'm betting they are the real deal. I'm skeptical only because I would have done some research after making the estate sale purchase and wouldn't sell for less than FMV. Something about this smells fishy.
Good luck with it!

Yeah I figured that when I started research on them. Kicker was I had like ten minutes to decide. I'm still a little surprised that I pulled the trigger.

The guy knew less that me about sticks and was thrilled with 500. I probably could have gotten them for 100 but I knew they had to be worth more than that.

I have my mother on the lookout at estate sales. She recently picked up a cue rack and ball rack. Both were nearly full: old Brunswick cues and unknown clay balls. She also got the scoring beads.
I put the racks at around 100 years old. I'm not sure what make the racks are. They do have a faint eagle clutching arrows logo on them.......
Total price: $120
I would say my risk was rather small, but I did have to green light it over the phone.

Can we see sOme pictures of the cues?
You got me and I'm sure everyone else curious.

Hey those are my cues and yes they are stolen.......

Wait a minute you didn't post pictures and I've never been to PA. My mistake!!!!!!!!!!!:grinning-moose::grinning-moose::grinning-moose::grinning-moose::grinning-moose:

I'm in bucks as well if you've got the time to go over to The Spot in Trevose. I'd be more than happy to give you a pretty good idea if they are real as I've had a few of those cues in the past. Another good person to talk to would be forkingcues, aka Kenny, here on azb. He's also a local in this area. Shoot me a PM if you'd like to meet up.

Just in case

Your best bet for answering your questions is Kenny. He may be the most knowledgable person regarding Schick cues outside of Bill. But, if you don't meet up, there are some distinctive characteristics that would support the Schick as real. Sounds like you already have a few offers of help. But if you don't meet up with these guys, you can PM me and perhaps I can help with the Schick.

Kenny would know a Gina, too. That's his business. I can't help you with the Gina unless it is an obvious fake.
