A question about having 2 tables

This is a legitimate question so please don't jump on me. If you had a room and wanted to put two tables in (in this case an 8' pool table and a 5x10 snooker table), can you set them so there is 5' between them or do you need more space between the two? I know you need approx. 5' around a table, but do you need 10' between if you have 2 or can you get by with less?

If it is a room in a private home I'd say six foot is plenty. If it is a public room eight foot between them is a little nicer.

All depends on whether or not both tables will be in use at the same time. Five to six feet will be plenty for a casual home table setup, though.
 
Thanks for the reply. Six feet would be no problem. More might be workable. Now to convince the wife.

Haha, good luck with that! Convince her that having two tables will lessen the need for you to go to the pool hall, and you'll be around more to take care of her "to-do" list.
 
to much space

take it easy with the wife thing , you could end up with more space
than you want. only one egg to fry.

Surprise her with a new vacuum cleaner. You'll have no problem after that.
Trust me. Oh! And make sure it has attachments to vacuum the tables properly.
 
I don't think the vacuum would be such a great idea! Maybe I could get her a cast iron frying pan so she could hit me over the head with it! I don't think she'll buy the honey-do list either!

Agreed, sort of. On the Wife part anyway.

True also that 6' would be no problem...but reality is that you can get away with much less. I'd say maybe less than 4'. You only require area for your body, unlike a wall situation where the cue also needs room. Hell, you could put you anussss on the rail of the other table and you'd have another foot in it (:eek::D).
 
As far as the distance between the tables. Go to your favorite pool room, and measure the distance between their tables.

5 feet would be plenty. The reason you need this room around a regular table is due to walls. You can't back stroke through the walls.

You can back stroke over another table, so the whole 5 foot rule really does not apply. Make it where, if you were bridging at the rail, you have a comfortable stance. This can be done for the vast majority of people, well within 5 feet.
