A raffle?

Ok. As for a high end cue, I am certainly not made of money. I just spent 600.00 on college books today. That's why I said 250.00-300.00. I can possibly do more but it's hard to come up with that kind of money to pay for the cue and have it sit for a week before I can recoup the money. Remember this is NOT FOR PROFIT and I will make no money on this. We will see. So now thats clear.

If I can get in touch with a cuemaker from this forum that would be awesome. Attention any cuemakers....if you have something in mind please pm me and we can talk.

A few more people would like to participate. That's awesome. I will not do this until I have 25-50 people.

I now need a respective AZ member with good feedback and lots of posts. If your interested in being involved in planning this and working out the details and you can meet the criteria above please send me a pm.

As for members who don't have paypal, set an account up. It's easy and they used to give a 5.00 credit to your account once you set it up and verified it.
I will consider taking money orders but paypal is so easy. I'm trying to make this simple, so please just set up an account. Its easy!!!

As for international people, for right now I would have to say your out. But not definately yet. There is still a lot of planning to do.

I would say that this would not take place until mid/end october because of planning and funding. Like I said I'm not rich.

I still want this to take place.

There will be no cue-techs......LOL.

If I can get something from one of the cuemakers on here I will do that.

I'm also entertaining these productions: Mess, Joss, and Predator. Maybe a couple of others. Still lots to do and I'm still open.

Possibly?

You could go over to the for sale forum and buy a cue! That way you could get a nice one for less. Don:cool:

Higher-end cues: Why not contact some of the cue dealers that sell in the "Wanted/For Sale" forum? Seems like one of them could hold on to the cue and wait for payment until the raffle was complete, then receive payment from you from the raffle proceeds, then ship it to the winner, and they would sell a cue, get promo, and you wouldn't be fronting any money. BUT, I agree, there are a lot of very good cuemakers on this forum too. If it's a custom cue from an AZ cuemaker, I'm in!
:p

If you don't find any problem that I'm leaving in Europe, count me in!
Great idea... funny

The internet pool forum community has done dozens of raffles over the years, so there should be no reason why your idea has any kind of resistance.

What others (specifically, JIMBOCT) have done in the past is that once all the money is collected, a date and state lottery is picked. When that date rolls around, whatever the number is, that's the winner. If it's a 100 numbers, then the last two or the first two (whatever, it's your raffle) is the winner.

No need to video your private number pulling or anything.

I have an idea. Instead of you buying a cue, I will donate one, and build it specifically for the winner. It will have a price of $300. 30 people at $10 a chance.

My 6 year old neighbor, Grant, has insulin dependent diabetes. I will set up an account at http://walk.jdrf.org/ and your $10 sponsorship of me walking for the JDRF will be your chance to win the cue. Grant will draw the name on the day of the walk, which, I believe is Sept 29 or 30th. (I'll check for sure)

Let me know how that sounds.

I just posted it so I haven't even made the account yet. If there is enough interest before the end of the day, I will have one made and people can make a donation through the secure site.
