A real neat old cue...any guesses?

Here is a cue I ran across this weekend. It sure hit solid.

The finish is yellowing and the 5 shafts with ivory ferrules give this cue a super classic look. The Cortland feels great and the butt feels right in your hand.

This GB is now for sale......Specs and more pictures are on the way shortly. Yes, it is the real deal and includes paperwork and 5 shafts, only three are pictured.

Sleeve window and half circle inlay dimensions and spacing look like George... Wrap looks right...Wrap ring looks right... Prongs could be Spain...Finish and Bumper looks too new. Maybe replaced... Would like to see shaft pilots better and joint and pin...

Course could be a good copy... Nice cue regardless...

i would like to see a close up of the white in the bushka rings,preferably magnified
 
Everything from the bumper to the joint screams GB but...you never know. Five shafts...wow.

If the squares are Ivory the Cue is not George's. They look Ivory. The bolt in the bumper is wrong also.

The socket cap screw (bolt).. I noticed as well.... Didn't say that it's wrong though...

It's a Bushka, I've seen this cue in person and knew the previous owner. That's Rack 66 in Louisville, nice cue.
 
Sure looks like the real deal. One thing I would add though is most genuine Balabushka shaft collars that I've seen had the jet black color without those phenolic-likes checks in them. However, that's a small point; these could have come later, or George could have done shaft collars with slightly different materials. One other thing, he usually put small nickel rings on the outer edges of the ring assembly above the wrap. However, not always, so that's not a disqualifier either. Pretty impressive cue.
 
If it is what most say it is, I'm jealous as hell.
When you say "ran across" in your original
post, does that mean you acquired it? It's a
great cue either way, but if you're the new owner
it's even better. I only hit balls with one Bushka
before, but I found out all I needed to know when
I did. George earned his reputation by making
the best playing cues on the planet, true then
and still true today.
 
Another look at this one in a lifetime cue......and the best part is that you have an opportunity to own it!!!!! You heard me right, it is for sale!

What is the price if its a Bushka and what is the price if its a Black? I would send pictures to Tascarella. Wonderful cue. :smile:
