A Southwest? Southwest experts needed

Good Point Salamander, maybes he miss hit a key and meant to say
12.5 mm which would coinside with that era

Original Shafts

Did they put the year on the shafts back in the 80s? These shafts look too new to be the originals.

It appears to be a pre-date Franklin era cue... but

I gotta wonder about the shafts. As was pointed out they look pretty new and I don't think they came with the year written on the end... not that I'm aware of anyway. Laurie would know.

I'm also thought that SW began the pin dating in 93 as opposed to 92. Was I mis informed about that?

In the 80's they didn't write the year on the inside of the shafts... The number they wrote was the shelf number that the shafts were stored on.. This helped them keep track of the shafts that went with the cues..
I can't tell you if the shafts are original on this paticular cue, but having a one or two digit number on the shafts would be consistant to that era..
Hope this helped..

ken is right about shaft #,they are to match the shaft to the butt, not the year that the cue was made.the practice, matching butt to shaft comes from david k.;)
