The following is a US Open 9 ball match between Earl & Bustamante.

It's interesting to watch as Earl makes a small comeback to tie the match at 2-2 and his mood is very good at that point.

Then as things progress in Busty's favor (because of his great play), Earl's mood goes from good to sullen, then to his actually giving up. He just starts whacking at balls and taking shots he shouldn't with crystal clear body language showing his surrender. I don't like seeing this.

Brilliant position play can be observed at 41.50 of the video when Busty goes from the 3 to the 4 to the 6 to the 7,8,9. The 4 to the 6 is especially magnificent and they offer a slo-mo replay of this shot at 44.08. :thumbup:

I watched that video just this morning. About halfway through the match Earl started shootin' like an angry APA SL3 :shakehead:. It would've been a lot easier on his mental state if he would have just went up to Bustamante and shook his hand as a concession rather than just start banging balls around. It was hard to watch it all the way through.

It was painful to watch, but I kind of understand where Earl is coming from. Busta was either running out or leaving Earl with nothing.

It looked like no matter what Earl did, he wasn't going to win. Earl realized that, and adjusted his strategy accordingly.
