Abe Rich Titilst Conversion

I found a deal on another Rich cue. I think called a Starjet and looks unused. It comes with a 1992 Steve Miz dove logo SM-1. Both for $106.00
Got pics of the miz dove? Or maybe better to create a new thread? I'm interested in knowing when the nicer older miz cues were made (dove cues, the miz collection, signature cues, etc).

When you say "nicer", what do you mean?

What do you want to know about them?

I have researched the heck out of it and have the 1992 catalog scan. Most of what you will find here and on billiardsforum has been posted by me.

I have the pictures from his purchase, but that's his business if he wants to share them.

These are the "good ones". 1992 catalog page.

Oh, ok, I remember now seeing your posts before about these Steve Mizerak Professional Series cues. Pretty nice. I have recently had 2 Steve Mizerak Signature cues, and a "rainbow cue", from more entry level lines I suspect. Here are some pics, and I have another one similar to the
brown one on the way, but it is more a natural color. I'm guessing these are also from the '90's?

The one with the pearl dots is a G-02 Minuteman, the green one is a G-04 Hawk, both from the 1992 catalog. The "Miz Collection" rainbow cue is more modern, I don't know anything about them.

If you have the catalog, would you mind posting a pic or two? Thank you.

So nice! I want the 5th one from the left! Almost snagged one like it recently, but was outbid....was it you, lol?? Some nice looking Cobra's as well...
yeah more than likely it was me, everyone in this thread, we're all on the same websites, probably overbidding each other something fierce!

I have some. The prices got silly.

Years ago I documented the history and talked to someone involved the original Mizerak deal.

The Mizerak Professional Series and Cobra Professional are the ones I really want. They are "good", like Adam quality. I have a few. They were sold through a dealer network. I would like them all. I have the original Cobra catalog as well, original and scanned.

There are some other brands too, same cues. I have a list and I own some examples. But the Pro versions were exclusive.

There are also some better versions never sold in the US. I would like them. I found one in South America, and one in Germany. Sadly I missed the one in SA, and the one in Germany has a silly price.

That's an Orchid, very similar to a Cobra Pro.
I know the orchids pretty well, and have some good examples. Now that I look again, I have that model. The Cobra Pro models never had rounded CNC points nor thin metal rings in the joint collars.

which is why I said similar and not exactly like... ;)

I get it. But the shaft wood and other components and materials were quite different as well. Do you have a Cobra Pro? They have not been made for a long time.

The most recent similar in quality cues were the Sierra models, and before that the GW Collection, although most of those were crap, some of them were of good quality. Many cues were made with various branding and various quality levels over the years.

Specifically regarding the two Cobra 525 Side Winder cues you have which were branded many ways over the years, a few of them were of the Cobra Pro quality, but most not. That model was never produced in the Cobra Pro model line. They were variously branded:

1) Craftmaster
2) Cobra
3) Competition
4) Slyfoxx
5) GW Collection
6) Pinnacle
7) Sierra
8) Crystal Leisure
9) Unbranded

I have a couple of nice Slyfoxx and Competition's,

Also, I have three Siegl Varner, and they feel and look like they were made in the same factory, have any background on them?

No. I haven't followed them.

Most of my focus is centered on the history of the original Cobra cues and the original Mizerak deal. The farther you get from that the less interested I am.

The only reason I foray into looking at the other brands is if they sold one of the exact same models as found in the original catalogs of those Cobra and Mizerak brands. And my interest ends with those exact models.
