My first cue was a Wes Hunter, and even though I'm very happy with my current player, my Hunter is the one cue that I really regret parting ways with. His cues play on the stiff/meaty side, but not as 'crispy' as something like a Southwest. His shaft material is some of the best I've ever seen. Really tight grained dense material, so one of the things I liked about my Hunter was that I was able to turn the shafts down a bit without the shaft getting whippy.
I've always felt that his cues are so unorthodox sometimes in design, that people tend to overlook them. If he made more traditional looking cues, the quality and playability is there. Very underrated as far as I'm concerned.
