Hello again pool tool! The reality is (as everyone but you seems to know) is there is NO consistency in the rules today for professional or amateur pool. There are as many sets of rules as there are associations. The fact that I have to spell this out for someone who calls himself a "pool scholar" is frustrating to say the least. In an ideal world we would have a consistent set of rules, clearly established by a world recognized governing body. But that is not the world we live in today!

If you would like to do something about it, please feel free to start your own "world" governing body and create your own set of rules. You wouldn't be the first or the last to do that. Why you would chose to single out a man (Pat Fleming) who has dedicated his life to the betterment of the game is beyond me. Why not pick on one of the newer promoters, some of whom have created new games and new rules to play by, only further muddying the waters.

Somehow I think jealousy is at the root of your issue, not really a desire to make anything better. Rather than complain about a promoter who consistently and for years has provided great shows with great content, who not get off your high horse and actually do something. Your perch is a bit precarious from where I stand! Be careful or you may fall flat on your face.

Damn you got me. I guess people will do whatever they want. The problem is no accountability in pool. A lot of selfish people and nobody working together. This means no progress. Lets see how the free market works with the pool world.

I'm done being semi-serious and semi-trolling you guys. It's a waste of energy. This board reminds me of middle school. It is quite funny that half of you resort to name calling.
 
Efren likes slop, and I'm with him! Fans have always liked flukes being part of the game. 9 ball, snooker, 3 cushion are all "no call shot".
 
Thank goodness "the less cerebral" players don't like One-Pocket. They would seek to wreck that game too by making it called shot. Calling shots in short games just ruins everything.

Why all the bickering on a rule that only makes the game more exciting and more appreciated? What am I missing.:confused:

I use wpba rules for all my tournaments. No whining.

In all honesty, even if slop is allowed, the better players will always come out ahead since you have to win multiple games in a tournament. You can't just slop your way to victory. If you're playing on a bar box with buckets as pockets, then I could see where slop is annoying and less enjoyable.

I know I said I was done here....but I was just listening to Thorsten Hohmann and Ken Shuman talking about rule consistency in pool and how it's a problem on the Accustats stream.

Hohmann made a crack at Fleming asking if if they had any rules added to straight pool like "kicking into a rail and don't have to call it"

Thought it was funny. Please chime in Accustats fanboys.
