Shot clock? In 8-ball? Oh sheez!

I actually like the shot clock! These are 6 of the very best pool players in the world, there is no reason why these guys can't figure out what to do and execute a shot in 30 seconds.
I am enjoying this format and I like the red and yellow balls as it shows up nicely on the stream! Thank You to Accu-stats for putting this together!

Totally agree with you. But according to the time needed to play each match so far 40 second clock would fit the schedule easily.

And a nice friendly 10 second bell would be a fair addition.

But absolutely a fantastic event unfolding here at Sandcastle in the Simonis Arena.

btw BB you look much better now with all those green dots ! :)

Shot changed to 45 seconds instead of 30. Still seconds after the break. No warnings the arena is set up so there are 3 clocks visible to the the
Players. No extensions.
Reyes v Appleton starting now.

Nice change, 30 is way too fast.

90 seconds after the break and 45 seconds for each shot is perfect for 8-ball without going to a multi-shot shotclock that uses the last 10 turns at the table and a running average which is optimal.

No warnings and no extensions is the proper way to go as well.

Enjoyed watching tonight

Johnny Archer vs Darren Appleton plus SVB sv Effren Reyes with commentary by Danny D, Billy I & Ken S made this ppv entertaining and worth every penny.

Was a little surprised at the first match. Darren was getting out from everywhere. Next match Shane seemed a little unsettled about something, must of been his break.

Love this game to death. When I see how bad decisions on pattern play turns the game upside down for the pros it helps me appreciate how difficult this game can be.

The people who buy the VIP seats and listen to the commentators. Those guys are funny. The tell great stories and go at each like an old married couple. Danny D said Alex P had to decide between becoming a professional pool player or joining the NBA. That kept me laughing for a while.

I have to agree, this has been one of the most enjoyable streams I have watched in a long time.

Shot clock

You cannot change the rules in the middle of a tournament. As much as I hate shot clocks and as much as I like 45 seconds better than 30, you just can't do that. Unless it was determined beforehand that the players would have more time in the later rounds.

Sunday's Line up

3:00 Corey(2-2) plays Efren(0-4)

5:00 Alex (3-1) plays Johnny (2-2)

7:00 Darren(3-1) plays Shane (2-2)

If both Alex and Darren win they will have records of (4-1) and they will play a playoff at 9:00

If they both lose then 4 people will have records of (3-2) and the 2 players with the best overall records(count games won in lost matches) will playoff at 9:00

The only problem I see is that if Alex wins, then there is no incentive for Shane to play at 5:00, because he's been eliminated.

Thoughts?

I believe Shane would get $1000 for winning that match, regardless of whether he is eliminated from the tournament. And I think that is an excellent solution to said issue.

Fatz

Perfect package!

The last two days watching this ppv was awesome. Purchased evening or night sessions that came in under 3 hours and had my attention the whole time. IMO it's as close to perfect of all ppv's that I have watched.

Who is going to slow down DA?

That 8Ball on the break had Alex dancing around the table. He even got Shane to crack a smile.
