In a different threads I have read that others have noticed the improvement of the Live Stream by Accu-Stats. I thought this improvement deserved its own thread.

Copied from http://www.accu-stats.com/pagetwo.html

Accu-Stats' primary motivation has always been to present PRO pool and billiards Tournament Match Videos at their best, first in the VHS format then, as technology advanced, via the DVD, all the while delivering cuesports to TV audiences around the world.

Productions Accu-Stats has created this year for broadcast on ESPN Star Sports in 26 markets in Asia and, TV projects still in negotiation, have necessitated that Accu-Stats undergo its most radical transformation in ten years.

To be competitive in this ever changing technological universe we had to evolve.

This week, at the Masters, the "Accu-Stats Evolution" continues.

From now on, all Accu-Stats Productions on DVD, Internet Stream, and television, will be delivered in

HIGH DEFINITION.

New JVC HD cameras, new components, new switching and recording equipment (our new Tricaster HD850) and other "gadgetry" allow us to venture into this new world.

DVD's, Streaming Video (both Free on Ustream and Pay-Per-View), Video On Demand (VOD) and, most importantly, our continued venture into television production to deliver Pro Pool to the international audience it deserves, will be enhanced by these mandatory improvements.

Join us this week at the Masters and see the

I have a lot of respect for a pool industry company that understands that business is in in fact evolutionary. You can't stand still in the marketplace and hope. You have to keep looking forward and try to match your skills and strengths not with what's happening today but what will be happening in the forseeable future. It doesn't guarantee success but it does give you a real chance. Accustats has chosen a tough market to work but I like how they go about their business. Looking forward, no complaining and trying to be professionals at all times.

We did get a few concerns of to much camera movement.

So I want to say the entire crew is getting used to the new stuff.

Kinda like driving a new car !

I gotta say, I *really* noticed the improvements last night when I got to watch it at home, full screen on my 23" monitor - and it looked as good as it used to in the standard small window.

Great job everyone!

Impressed by the presented quality.
Hope all will work perfectly when Ralf vs Mika is starting :p

I have a quality pic

But it keeps freezing up at 4 to 5 times a minute, Sometimes for several seconds. It is beautiful when it's running.

It has been very smooth for me all week, with one exception. I did a reboot and ran a couple of cleaners. I have had no more problems since.

I enjoy the quality very much. The matches have been great entertainment. I can see it getting costly at $6/night, but its sorta addicting. :)

Sure beats the old days. Since March 1, absolute perfection. No freeze-ups, nothing. Keep up the great work.

Reps to you

I ran disk cleanup and it cured the problem. Thanks for the good advice.

The video quality is excellent. Mine has been smooth and clear all week. Thanks accustats. I was pondering whether I should purchase the PPV this week. I'm glad I did.

For those having issues you will need a dsl or cable connection, at least 1.5MB down. They are streaming at around 800kb/sec. I think this is a higher rate than before.

I saw the new feed today and the quality is great. 800 kbs is about twice the "normal" ustream feed that most put up. The PPV system allows you to take advantage of it too.

They went out and spent a ton of money and shows in the end product. Very nice.

I've been tuning in this week in the evening as I've been able. The stream has indeed been terrific. As far as camera movement goes it's kind of cool between racks following the player around the table, panning and stuff - sort of adds to the "televised" quality a little. But less is more during play of a rack. ;)

Good job guys. Great to know all future stuff will be in HD. I hope everyone goes HD soon, I really like to watch full screen and just escape back occasionally to join the chat.

way to go, very good news! Thanks for developing new standards for pool industry and for trying to work out something new all the way!!!
