With Comet billiards closing, does anyone have any idea where Accu Stats is going to go?

Do they have a new prospect for a home, or not?

Also, obviously, the gameshow is going to be on hold indefinitely till they get a new home, but what about the jackpot cash that has already been taken in that has yet to be won?

Accustats hasnt been at Comet very long, have they? Maybe a year or so??? My vote would be Masters in Queens, though Im sure that wouldn't be very convenient for them.

As sad as it is that poolrooms are closing left and right, the ones that DO stay open reap the rewards. I would imagine Amsterdam and Masters will benefit along with some smaller rooms from Comet closing.

Though, the predator tour and tristate tour have lost a great venue.

I doubt we will see a permanent AS Arena anywhere. It is expensive as hell and for what? Sure the gameshow was real entertaining but where was the income? Nowhere that i can fiigure. 20-30 viewers in the Chat, maybe a few more not in the chat, no charge/free and
Pat didnt even push his tapes during the show!

It was a last deperate move to keep the place open and on a Friday night with 2 big jackpots, the amount of people in the room was about the same as a normal friday night five years ago. I never could figure out where he was heading with it.

Good luck to Pat, Bill and the whole Comet staff. A crying shame.

dont know of any plans yet. i'm sure the jackpot monies will be set aside until they get the game show up somewhere. maybe bill will find a new venue. maybe it is time to encourage carmen to step up and do something quickly. but truley very sad as i was gonna get there for the joss event. it would of been my first trip to comet and now it's gone.:(:frown:

I believe I heard a while back that the town limited the number of tables comet could have (parking) so that is why there was so much room around all the tables and also why they could put in the arena without taking out too many tables and limiiting their income.

I may be wrong as always but I believe a typical 12-15 table room would have to take out 3/4 if not ALL their tables. Im thinking of the old Orangetown Billiards which had 12 tables or so. I dont think the AS Arena would fit in there if they removed all their tables. Comet was a unique situation and it will be real hard to find another room that can handle and WANTS the arena imho.
