the big match up last night was chohan vs chavez (sorry if i spelled it wrong) the bet was race to 21 for 4000 in the middle and countless side bets . the match goes hill hill and the crowd yells back it and jack it! so the did! race to 21 for 8000 and chohan wins i believe 21 to 16.

Damnit! I knew I should've gone!!.. I know both players - they both play amazing. Anyone video tape this? (you people need to start doing that, bring them fancy cell-phones and get to work my little reporters!).

Chohan's myspace page for a while had "paper collector" or something like that listed next to his name. I just looked and its something different: "I cross state lines like you cross your cross streets" . lol

thanks for the action update +rep at ya

Chohan has been with Ronnie Wiseman in Detroit now for some time. It seems like he has been in action the entire time.

railbird musings...

I didn't see that Chohan match up but I'm pretty sure Matt Clatterback beat Lil John for about 6k.......they played 2 sets of 7-ahead 9-Ball first set for 2k and 2nd set for 4k.......funny that between sets Mike Painter comes over and wants to play Lil John for 1.5k and LJ says "bet 2500"....Painter begging saying "Come on....I got 1500 of my own money!".....so LJ starts asking the crowd: "Does ANYBODY want Painter??ANYONE, ANYONE, ANYONE in the WHOLE WORLD????" Nobody steps forward to give Painter the other 1000 so the match doesn't happen....that's when Matt and Lil John played their 2nd set......and I think Lil John might've been GETTING the Wild 8:eek: After that Matt gravitates a few feet over to the $100 Action Table where all the side bets are furiously going on.......players like Jason Kirkwood, Dee Adkins, Shaun Wilkie, Dom Souza, Larry Nevel, Frankie Hernandez, Cliff Joyner, great sight to see......so Matt got the table (they're playing 10-Ball $100 per game).....so Matt breaks I think and doesn't have a shot on the two ball and it's Frankie's shot.......a shot he's supposed to make.....he dogs it and then Matt gets out to win and Frankie starts *****ing and moaning "These tables are for drunks....play me on a 9 ft table!" (FYI: this action all takes place on 7' Diamond Smart Tables).......Matt then starts berating Frankie saying "Shit....you got action anytime, anywhere, anyplace.......Step UP....Step UP.....Step UP......Frankie just sits there looking pissed off with his tail between his legs.........man I love this place........I'll give ya some more later on the gambling scene.......I went in Pro Arena for last session last night around 10:00 p.m. --- some great matchups: Frankie Hernandez beat Mike Davis 10-9 (maybe that's what gave him courage to go on Action Table??).......Fabio was beating Stevie Moore, Larry Nevel was cruising through Charlie Williams, Shaun Wilkie was leading Rodney Morris 4-1 and ended up losing 10-5:eek: .. John Schmidt was drilling some unknown (BTW I introduced myself to John Schmidt and we discussed some things---very, very nice guy (I introduced myself to him as Russ Chewning just jackin' around!) --- he started howling!! I think Jeremy Jones was beating Matt Krah, Corey Deuel pounded Mika -- funny I just saw Corey before this match started walking through the Amateur Arena and he says to me "I love playin' Mika" and I'm thinkin' to myself "Other than the US Open in 2001, Mika's been gettin' the best of you lately Corey"....good think I didn't say that.....Corey goes out and kicks his butt 10-5......some good matches in there today--just look at the brackets on-line here.......anyway I'm goin' to McDonalds now to get some grub...I'm out of the Open Amateur (played like a dickhead)....but I'm still havin' fun......Pitt won........will post later........

Lil John lost the first set playing 10 ahead 10 ball even. The second set was 10 ahead 9 ball and Lil john was getting the call 8.

Klatterbuck plays pretty strong on a bar track. It seems he also is married with children and works full time for UPS. He plays plays too good to have his $hit together :D

Seems like a good guy. I am curious to see if he will match up with any top tier players.

You're evil... just plain evil. ;)

Corey Deuel pounded Mika -- funny I just saw Corey before this match started walking through the Amateur Arena and he says to me "I love playin' Mika" and I'm thinkin' to myself "Other than the US Open in 2001, Mika's been gettin' the best of you lately Corey"....good think I didn't say that.....Corey goes out and kicks his butt 10-5

I think there's some bad blood between those two. I recently Tivo'd their match at the 2005 ESPN World Summit of Pool, and Mika seemed to be overly irritated by just about everything Corey did. Due to the way the arena was laid out, Corey's chair was right behind Mika when Mika was breaking. Corey was sitting there with his legs crossed and one ankle on the other knee, just absent-mindedly wiggling his foot, and when Mika was bent over getting ready to break, somehow he noticed the movement and stood up, saying "Don't do that again." That wasn't the only exchange of that nature, just the most obvious. Throughout their match, Corey seemed to be fairly nonchalant about all of Mika's glares and comments, but there's also the possibility that he was trying to get into Mika's head, too.

Do they have some sort of history?

Has weightlifting done something to Mika's psyche?

Enquiring minds want to know...

What do you mean by "howling"? Did he start cursing you out? :D

And who is this Matt guy? Never heard of him. Sounds pretty strong to give weight to Little John, and to WOOF at Hernandez????

Matt Clatterback (sp sorry Matt) posts here and as far as natural talent may be one of the best players on te East Coast (not to ruin his action) He sometimes goes weeks or longer without playing and can pick up his cue and have you muttering to yourself. He is a straight forward good guy and will bet his own. If I ever take a throughobred on the road again he is the type of guy I wouldn't mind taking. IMHO his 9ball game is no joke

I like Matt too!!

Matt Clutterbuck

Not sure about these facts, but somebody once told me that Matt Clutterbuck was also a top all-around athlete in his area and was a pro baseball prospect, but had an injury that stopped him.

Who told you that?

I heard that he is a master race engine tuner and had top% 100meter sprint times as a teen. Also, that he is a great beat-boxer and speaks French fluently.

I heard he was a 9th degree blackbelt in kenpo and is a member of mensa who likes to compose symphonies in his spare time. Philw

You are Correct

1PocketGhost,
You are correct about Matt's baseball talent (when he was in college). A close friend of his, told me the same. Why is this so hard to understand/believe for some? Danny Dilaberto excelled at both basebeall and pro-boxing.
I watched Matt play Lil John for at least an hour and I was very impressed with his play.

Regards,
Hal
