Building on my do you copy or mimic pro players, someone mentioned the do Johnny's lint pick move.

I wonder how many of you out there (myself included) have ADD or ADHD and how it works on your game.

Sometimes I get down over a ball and see a speck of whatever on the table far away which has no bearing on the shot or anything else, I have to stop and go pick it up and then go back to the shot. And this may happen 100 times or it may happen 1 time depending on how clean the table is. Oh and if there is a piece of trash on the floor that didn't make it to the trash can, I have to stop, go pick up that trash, then come back.

It really bites..

I am that way about my cue, if it isn't chalked perfect, or if its dirty even a little bit I have to stop and fix it.

Thanks for the reply.

This is a very important topic, and it troubles many many people in the world.

Shoot faster.
When you are up, think about the shot fast.
Tip location, stroke speed and contact points.
Commit to that, go down then shoot.

I guess the world needs balance because I'm at the other end of the spectrum.

Nothing bothers me. I've got chalk all over my ferrule, tip, shaft and hand. I don't see any of it when playing. Afterwards, yes. Only then do I clean everything up.

Other players have told me they could fire off a gun right next to my head when I'm down stroking and I wouldn't hear a thing.

It's come back to haunt me a few times, though. There have been times when I should have been paying attention to what was happening around the table than what was happening on the table.

Let me just say that AADD is not a fun thing to live with no matter how mild your particular case may be. For those that don't suffer from it, have some patience for those that do.

I'm sure every pool player on earth has said this before, especially the ones married or in a relationship.:o

Here's a thought, If you have any of these maladies, just pretend the balls on the table are lint and you just have to pocket them like you would pick up the lint.....let it make you more powerful.

I'm not joking, I bet it would work.

My wife is a psychologist and she says that the fact that he saw the lint was due to ADD and the fact that he had to go pick it up was OCD. Very possible to have both.
