Addicted to cues.

Lately I've been addicted to cues! I've been looking and learning about them and watching how they are made on youtube. The different styles and wraps and inlays. The nice exotic woods. A nice cue truly is a piece of art.

That is all.

You won't get much help for your addiction here....
...this is like an alcoholic coming to a bar.

....even our Sneaky Petes are fancy

 I was an addict. The only way I could cure the addiction was to begin creating them.

If your addiction is a problem, then Busboy better check into rehab quick, before it's too late.

Welcome to the club.

Just the other day, I was looking through my cellphone photos and realized that I have way more pictures of cues than I do of family, friends and selfies combined! My wife wasn't too happy about that.

Things could always be worse as far as addiction goes.

Me > Topped @ 23 a year ago. Thin to 4 end of 2014. Back to 13 and constantly, rotating, eyeballing next purchase or future snag.

I am one sick Kat:thumbup:

I'm in the same boat as you. Can't get enough of it. I'm also purchasing to much as well. I guess there could be much worse things to be addicted too.

I need rehab

I'm in the same boat, Mike Stacey, Samsara, Gilbert, Schick, et al....
And I'm about to buy another one this week. I think drugs would be cheaper.....

Something about the various species of wood. I love wood. The look, the feel in hand, the noticeable and supple difference's between various pool cues. Both hand crafted customs and production models. Some new and some old... and some very old.

To me, almost every one has it's own unique feel and personality. It's a beautiful thing. I appreciate every one I have handled both good and bad.

I am enthralled with pool cues. If I were rich, I would have 100 at any given time and give nice ones to friends to play, enjoy and admire.

Good night my fellow pool cue addicts,

-Davekat

They truly can be, that's for sure. The one's that I like most are those finished out from Davis blanks. :)

Yes,welcome to the club!
You have the same problem, addiction as some of us here:smile::smile::smile:
You must know or better to say be aware of that this is incurable for sure:embarrassed2::smile::embarrassed2::smile::embarrassed2::smile:
But who cares:cool:

My wife and I have a standing agreement, she gets a new sewing machine, I get a new cue. She has 8 sewing machines, one dating back to 1938. I have 9 pool cues, had one before I met her.

However, I wind up paying for both of them.

I'm a recovering addict, I haven't bought a cue all year!

I think I might have bought a case or two though.

You should pursue that addiction, embrace it, let it breathe
The when the wife kicks you out at least you'll have something tangible to hold on to.

Safety tip: be sure to augment your collection with several inexpensive cues that you don't really care about. Before she throws you out, she's gonna want to break something first. These cheap ones just might keep her from your Scruggs or South West

Very good advice. Here are a few suggestions I might add to use a guidelines >

1)Never really let em' know what you really have stashed and if possible what you really paid.
2)Never show them or let them handle your favorite keepsake cue. You know the 'one you will never ever part with'.
3)Always 'talk up' the bait and leave it laying around in arms length just in case.
