Addicting? You weren't kidding!

Great

You mean Todds pro model, I did not see a deluxe model on his site.

Thats great lathe for the money, Todd makes a really nice lathe and he is a supper cool guy to work with, I bought the same thing from Todd last year then sold it . The only thing I did not like about it was that small tool post and the 1/4 in tool bit. When I was cutting ,facing or doing anything I did not like the sound of it, To me if felt like a toy, I wanted some thing a little more heavy duty. I'm looking and thinking about buying The loaded repair lathe that Bassel has for sale on his website, That looks awesome,
Please take a look at it and tell me what you think, I would like to hear your thoughts. Thanks

I looked at all the lathes availble and for price, performance and task at hand, I felt Todd's lathe was my best choice. I've been converting some bar cues to sneaky petes for a little practice and my lathe hasn't balked once. If you're trying to build an entire cue with it, which I feel could be done with the exception of the shaft, it's really not intended for that.

If you're looking heavy duty, you may want to get a lathe from Grizzly. You can get a metal lathe for around $2800 and a few of my friends have them and they are perfect for cue building. When I start getting into points and some higher end cue stuff, I play on buying a bigger lathe and probably a mill. That's way down the line, but for what I'm doing, Todd's lathe can't be beat especially at the price.

I agree

I agree, For what your doing the lathe from Todd is perfect. Good luck to you Man. I wish you well on your road to building a cue in the future. All the best. Jack

A word about Chris Hightower and cueman Billiards. I just got off the phone with Chris. I have been thinking about buying another lathe for a while now. Just been doing all my home work as far as whats out there and cost. The deluxe I felt was much more then I needed as I don't have plans to ever build a cue. I have been doing small cue repairs for 30 years now, I have a couple lathes in my shop but nothing really great. What I have I have had for more then 20 years now. Just been looking to upgrade a little. I called Chris because I saw a lathe that Darcy (cuejo's) has in his shop from a video he posted on youtube. It was not a deluxe and I diden't think it was a mid size because it had a 6 ft bed. I called chris asked him to go on youtube and look at Darcy's video take a look at the lathe I was talking about. Chris in short is a really supper cool guy as you all know any way. He was able to help me and now is in the process of building me the lathe I wanted. I cant say enough about Chris and how greatfull I am for his help..There has been so much good talk about Chris on this site over the years and for a very good reason. There is no one better then Chris Hightower.

Thank you very much Chris, It was a pleasure talking to you today. I can't wait to get my new lathe.

I used to dream "inventions".
I would wake up in the morning and remember I had a great dream but not the specifics.
My wife bought me a nice drawing pad, to set next to the bed.
A couple of nights later I had one of those "Eureka" what a great idea, dreams.
When I woke the next morning, I was so excited to see what I had written and drawn.
I knew it was going to be something fantastic.
The drawing looked like something from a talentless 2 year old and the writing was worse.
I guess I was still asleep when I got the pad out, lol.

Yea.... I have written down an epiphany in the middle of the night....... the next morning...... I couldn't read it or I had no idea what the hell I was thinking.........

LOL
