Anybody know who the Viguera cue expert is/ are up in hrre on the AZB??

I played with Adrian at the Green Room in Downers Grove when I lived in IL. His cues play great and he is a great guy!! I used to have a couple of them and they got lost in a car fire along with a few other cues.

Agreed...I have a 3c cue of his that I really like lots.

I've been trying to transition to a modern cue.. but I haven't really found one I like as much, yet.

To me, the cue seems to have a very soft strike feel, yet the action is consistent with a much stiffer cue.

It isn't solely a matter of the (conical) taper, coz the new cues ife tried all have that too.

My fear is that it is the male shaft that produces the hit Ive grown used to, coz all the new cues have their pins in the butts...

I just need one more cue...always!

Adrian did a lot of experimenting with different tapers and butt geometry. I played a tournament in Decatur 25years ago and his cue reminded me of an old coke bottle style softball bat. Forget if he won or just placed. Ashby and Hawkins were in it and a few other above average players. Oh and the last time I saw Deno play I think.

After Adrian sort of quit building cues Dennis Dieckman would cut his shafts. Dennis told me he liked the lightest shafts he could find. I have 4 or 5 shafts Dennis made for me from blanks he held in reserve for Adrian. I like them.

Obviously a car you had been wrenching on after a few High Lifes. 🤣
 
I used to see Adrian at Chris's almost every time I went there. It may be worth a call to ask if he is around. One of the nicest people I ever met btw!

The proprietor's of Chris's Billiards and Adrian had issues with each other...because of that, Adrian stopped playing at Chris's about 3 years ago.
