I started with a cheap 2x2 vinyl case that basically did its job. Then won a "Bentley" 2x4 leather case that was reasonably nice and also held up for a little while. Finally bought a very nice Whitten 3x5 I believe. Loved it, but damn was it heavy. A beautiful piece of work though. However, I had problems with 2 of the zippers, and Whitten wasn't especially helpful. At the Expo, I showed my case to John Barton, and he spent like 45 minutes with me showing me how to rethread a zipper, and even gave me a little nylon bag out of his personal luggage to use so the stuff didn't fall out of my pockets. He didn't once mention anything about his cases or try to sell me anything. That really made an impression on me, so I promptly purchased a JB Ultra Rugged case 4x8. I love it. It has held up great with no problems. I will say there honestly probably isn't enough space in there when the case is full, and the butts rub pretty hard against each other trying to take them in and out. I keep only 3 butts in there. I really just don't think 4 would fit with all the shafts in. That said however, the case is awesome, a fantastic value, reasonably light weight, and the customer service has been exceptional.
I would *strongly* recommend the JB Rugged line of cases. If I could go back and do it again, I would custom order one with my specific color choices, my name stitched on it, and one or two other little tweaks. You will pay more and wait a bit, but the cases are nice enough that you could easily make it your last case purchase...might as well get exactly what you want.
