I'm trying to find a device I remember that would sit on the rail and tell you if you hit the rail right where you wanted, or left or right of your target. Can anyone remember what this gadget was called?

It's called the Accu-Shot. It's manufactured in Atlanta GA. Google it and you should find the website. Sells for about $50 iirc. Neat little gadget, and quite useful, especially when trying to estimate squirt.

Edit: Apparently it sells for $70.

Draw a line on the rail. Now send $10 to my pay pal.

All kidding aside from, hitting the OB where you aim, knowing where to hit the OB comes next. But if you can't hit the spot on the OB where you want, forget about going any further until you can. I don't care what method you use, no straight stroke will get ya broke. Johnnyt

I use a device, called Master Aimer.

A piece of Master on the very edge of the rail. If you hit the bank proper, the chalk bounces up and lands on the table.

Then you know.
