AIMING VOODOO - detailed pdf

I take a 2 hour lesson (turns into a 3+ hour) with Ron Vitello every Monday night..just came back from it actually. The best thing about Rons 90/90 method is that he can adjust you to see where you're overcutting and undercutting based on your pre-pivot alignment. When I was ringing balls in the corner pockets on long shots and they werent going down, he got behind me to make sure the fundamentals were correct and when that wasnt the problem he went down table and noticed that my "perception" of 90/90 at object ball wasn't far out enough so I was overcutting slightly..he said if I was more comfortable aming half tip right on right cuts and then pivoting in and same on left cuts..he said whatever gets you lined up correctly is fine as long as its the same part of both the cueball and object ball. After that I was hitting center pocket on almost every shot..rattle was gone with or without speed..great feeling. And then of course the diamond system and kicking that he's become legendary for. He's an awesome "coach" as he puts it with a ridiculous amount of knowledge and some great stories..and a great guy to be around. I look forward to seeing him every Monday night.

the link to the PDF isnt working for me. looks like a dead link. i know this thread is a few months old now.. but i just now discovered it! >=/

Hopefully, cleary will make the document available again.

FYI, some info about 90/90 can be found here:

Enjoy,
Dave

I'm having trouble with my server and I havnt been able to get things working. I've had an overwhelming amount of people begging me so I'll figure it out soon.

I want to make a new video of it. Works so well and my pocketing has gotten so much better since I learned.

i too would like a copy of the PDF. i just recently started researching aiming systems. my "looks right" method ive been using since i was 12 is off more often than i would like it to be.

i liked the video you made (aiming voodoo) but even though ive watched it prolly 20 times i still dont quite get it.

give us a heads up when the new video is ready!

Let us know definitely on the video, Andrew. Appreciate your time and effort doing it..............

If you e-mail me a copy, I would be happy to host it on my server (with clear credit to you) and link to it from the 90/90 resource page.

Let me know if you want to do this,
Dave

I must be doing something wrong ... this link doesnt give me a .pdf - it takes me to A.Cleary's web page, and I dont see anyplace to d/l the .pdf there..

Yea I was poking around and messed something up with my server, so it's not working and just redirects to my site. Sorry.

I'll email it to dr dave

I'll post the file and a link as soon as you send the file. I've PM'd you my e-mail address.

Regards,
Dave

I still have it on my desktop; I uploaded it to a file hosting website. I hope it's not against the rules or anything, if so let me know so I can take it down:

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=03DZWIQ0
Thanks for making that available. I've also posted it at the following link to make access faster and more convenient:

And I added the link on the 90-90 resource page, which also contains a video link, some illustrations, and other useful information.

Regards,
Dave

PS: Cleary, if you ever update the document in the future, feel free to send it to me to replace the current version.

How exactly does one pivot? There's 3 points to pivot in the pdf one for close shots, another for mid-distance shots, and finally long distance. For the short distance shots, would you set your bridge hand down and then move it left or right to pivot? How would you "pivot" for the mid-distance shot since the point moves towards the middle of the cue stick?

I know it seems really strange but its not as mechanical as it seems. If you think of it as if you're a robot, you're making it hard for yourself. You can simply line up on the edge to edge line while standing up then drop down to centerball and should be fine. When you over think it, it makes it harder than it needs to be.

Play around with it and find what works for you.
