When using english, are you looking down the center of the cue ball, or are you looking down your shaft?

The tradeoff is whichever you're sighting down, you're estimating the other one. I like knowing exactly where my cue is pointed. When using english, are you looking down the center of the cue ball, or are you looking down your shaft?
Neither. When using english, are you looking down the center of the cue ball, or are you looking down your shaft?
Neither.
I line up that way and get my eyes adjusted into confirming where I intend to aim determining my OB contact pt.Neither.
I use a pivot for english, so I guess my vision is centered on the cue ball rather than the shaft. I suppose I could move my head or my whole body when I pivot but I feel like that would be crazy.
