Alert Theives are at it again-capone-diveney-pics addded

Pat Diveney--Diveney Cues had a capone stolen from his booth out in vegas this week. The cue was ebony with divory points, had double silver rings with six ivory diamonds in between the rings. It also had silver tips on the spearheads of the points, The person who got it only got the butt so cuemakers be aware he will have to have shafts made. I will put pics on hear as soon as pat gets back from vegas.

Lets catch this guy-There is no one lower than a cue theif.

I took some photos of this stick the day before it vanished. Ill post photos of it tomorrow. Beautiful stick....such a shame.

Pat is a nice Guy, lets try and help him out.

Cues could have RFID chips installed into them so that when a cue is a outside of the safe range it starts beeping at a high frequency.

The design challenge is to make it so that it is not easy to remove. Perhaps under the butt cap, or a butt cap lock.

The butt cap lock would be the manual safe and the chip the techno safe. A local circuit designer could whip up the RFID beeper and modify a labtop to sense the location of the cue.

The butt lock would prevent the cap from being screwed off without damaging the threading, failure to remove the lock first would ruin the threading.

Not maybe not RFID chips but mini-wireless receivers the beep when outside of the signal range produced by a labtop or portable device.

Why not a GPS locator? If the cue starts beeping you'll never get it back.

Stolen cues

I don't know how you can enjoy something that you stole. Your a their. I would think that would bother the guy, but obviously not. Butterflycues

I hope this cue is found. There is nothing I like more than a good cue recovery story. :thumbup: I suspect this cue will surface sooner or later. Kind of hard to pass off a custom as an everyday kind of cue.

Yes, this cue is a one of a kind. I don't know who the idiot thinks he can show it to. Butterflycues

If there are "local" guys around he can match the shafts and nobody would know its stolen. He can tell them they were stolen from him or he broke his only shaft and wants a new one. Sadly not all "shadetree" cue builders/repairers are not on the net and wont ever see this thread.

No Security in this part of the riviera,,,,so they say,,,but even if they did have it they wont show it to you anyway, this scumbag is going to appear with it saying he bought it from someone or a pawnshop, when the pics get on here tomarrow i hope one of his freinds see it and give pat diveney a call and let him know where it is,,, If you know a scumbag that went to vegas last week and he has come home with a capone cue, take a look at it to see if it the cue we are looking for, there is only one so you really cant be wrong if it looks like the pics we put on here....and if you are the one that stole the cue return it to pat, no questions asked!!!

Casinos have eyes all over in the sky to protect the CASINO. Several years ago at the ______ ______ in Reno, Nevada my other half letf an item on the ground when we were parking in their parking garage.

When we got inside the hotel were realized a "small bag" that should have been with us was missing, realized "she" set it on the ground, and did not pick it up.

We walked back to the car, and in the 12-15 minute, the bag was gone. I talked to Casino Security, and a Supervisor in the Security Department about if they could looking at the "security tapers" to see where the bag went. In so many words I was told my loss was my problem, and the security tapes were for the "casinos use only".

So I say good luck if you talked to security at the Pool Event, maybe there were better to deal with than the people in RENO.
