Alex Pagulayan vs Dippy for $20K This Thursday. Watch it LIVE on TAR

I'd like to play that 9-Ball game with Mr. Bartram on TAR if it can be arranged. I know that being a Ten Ahead set creates a problem for TAR, but perhaps they can give us a three hour block of time to play. If it doesn't finish by then, we would have to move off the table for other matches.

True, it's only a thousand dollar match, but I thought there might be interest in watching this by TAR's viewers. This old cat hasn't got many matches left in him. I'm pretty much retired to stud these last few years.

Must be some reason you are seeking fresh publicity instead of standing on your record.

Would success in this match make your service more desireable and justify a higher stud fee?

I'm gonna write this book because even though you pissed me off before, I like you Mikey and want you to see my point of view and consider things from where I stand.

I realize you think Dippy is some supreme hustler. But I bet if you add up his pool action since May he is way down. What kind of hustler loses more seed money than he ever has a chance to win back? The only reason he got the games with Alex for big money was because there was another poker player behind Alex. No one in the pool world is going to lose six figures at a time like Dippy has and most backers are going take a short shot at best. I suspect he will get bored with it all or discover golf or some shit and we wont hear anything else from him. These games are a hobby to him. He gets to be the big fish with all champions chasing him. That doesn't change the fact they can win more playing Dippy than winning all the major events combined so they do it.

When all this started I didnt know Dippy and thought it was all a gaffe and not very entertaining until I saw something that made me re-think it. I was watching champions play amazing pool under pressure unlike even major event finals. Dippy made that possible. I really think he enjoys watching the guys he plays in action as much as he likes the actual gambling with them. Some people hate him, some people swing from his nuts but personally I like the guy because in all of my dealings with him he has done what he said he will and provides an opportunity for great players to play great pool. Some of the shit he has done in the past I don't agree with but I can say that about many people I consider friends. There are not many angels in my world.

If this match was some sort of show what the hell was the point? All the guys that are gonna play Dippy already know how he plays. They know they have to outrun the nuts. The money made off the PPV after expenses doesn't pay my bills for the month and it did about twice as well as I expected. So if the match was just a dog and pony show what was the purpose?

I thinks its wrong for you to come out in public and say Alex, Dippy and I are liars and thieves because that is what you are saying. You have absolutely no proof that anything was not exactly what it was presented as. I wouldn't come to your work and tarnish your name based on an opinion or a feeling and I think you are wrong to do that to people here.

Things like this remind me of all the things I hate about action pool. The guys in the corner who are sure they have all the inside angles, everything is a scam and everyone is a POS out to steal the pennies off a dead man's eyes. Of course any actual "info" they may have is third hand "I heard it from a guy who saw a post on the internet from a dude who cuts thats guys backers grass" type shit.

There is plenty of shady shit that goes on in action pool. We all know that. But I have never been a part of it and I have went out of my way to keep a clean reputation in this business and it is worth more to me than money. So just keep that in mind when you accuse me of putting on a dog and pony show.

Stud fee??? Now that's an interesting concept! :p
The truth is that I'm just a sucker who thinks he has a good game and I could use the money if I get lucky and win for once.

Are you nuts, 20 bucks for this crap. I'm sure everything was on the up and up for this match. LOL

come on dude, the chat alone is worth $20 during the stream! ANY, $20k match is worth throwing in a few bucks to watch. Learn a few shots from Alex, and it will pay back dividends for years.

I read some of this and all i have to say is:

"If you're not hustling, you're being hustled." ~ forgot who said it.

i've heard it put a better way (i think anyway), "if you look around the room and can't tell who the mark is......it's you":D

Jay,
check out the video and tell me how you stack up? That's a lot of plumbing and volume.

Jay is a thoroughbred.
So that artificial stuff is forbidden.

For example, in order for the resulting foal to be registered with The Jockey Club, Thoroughbred breeders must have their mares bred by live cover. As inconvenient as this might seem

Don't you love this informative and enlightening site:grin::grin::grin:

I'm just being humble, but I appreciate just being able to watch this kind of action for $20?? How cheap is that? Talk to a guy 10 or 20 years ago & say I'm gonna see a champion gambling tonight for 20K in Vegas, or New York, or Florida, and oh no, I don't have to go there. I'm gonna sit on my ass & watch it at home. As big as pool was back then, how much do you think they would have made if internet streaming was available back then? But it's not, & it's here now. A lot of people take for granted that these guys don't HAVE to do this, but they do. We would just have the same long stupid posts 20 pages long with "updates?" But we do have the availability to watch it & talk to each other about it as it happens. That's worth $20 to me. I'd pay three times that just to watch Alex or Shane or whoever running balls. I see it for the entertainment & learning value.
