Alex Pagulayan vs Eklent Kaci Action Match July 27-29th...Who do you guys like ?

After several non compliant breaks from Alex, Kaci hit Alex with a nice run of few racks

If Alex can't figure out his break it's not looking good for him

I lost track of how many non compliant breaks Alex had, 7 or 8 or more maybe

Wow, assuming they're playing winner breaks, that means Alex had more illegal breaks than legal breaks. That's a formula for disaster, and this match is already over if this problem isn't fixed.

Aren't they playing 9 ball? Somebody did some homework and noticed Alex wasn't complying to the "3 point rule".

I thought that was for 10 ball and Texas Express was the standard for 9 ball. Not my money but it sounds like Alex walked into a rules trap.

3-pt rule for 9-ball has been used a lot in the WPA events. I don’t recall a single tournament that used the 3-pt rule for 10-ball.

Saturday's set replay is now looping until today's 1st set starts at 4pm pacific.

The Lion Alex Pagulayan vs The Young Gun from Albania Eklent Kaci.

what is the 3 point rule ???:embarrassed2::embarrassed2:
On the break shot you get one point for each ball pocketed and one point for each ball that crosses the head string.

The breaker must make a combination of at least 3 points of balls pocketed or crossing the head string or it's a non compliant break.

The non breaker then has the option to shoot or give it back to the breaker on non compliant breaks.

It was brutal i don't think i can recall ever seeing so many illegal breaks from one player in a set ever lol

He was not breaking soft either :scratchhead:

Alex immediately went to work on his break after the session last night.

He spent a few hours working on it and had pros Tyler Styer and Josh Roberts helping him figure it out.

One thing we know for sure is Alex wont go down without a fight.

Just as a minor nitpick, the WPA rules and the derby city classic rules say that the ball just needs to reach the head string with the edge of the object ball. It is doesn’t to cross it.

“...ball must touch the head string line.

To touch the head string line means that the edge of the object ball must reach (break) the string line.”

Freddie <~~~ lucky to get 1 point

I thought it was 4 balls pocketed or to a rail.

Didn't know they changed to headstring but then I haven't played 9 ball in a while.

In the meantime in Vegas......there’s a plague of grasshoppers happening
