Alex & SVB Score Thread

PPV is a proven model. I think it needs to be done with advertisers as well.

The thing that does bother me and probably the TAR folks as well is that when they broadcast a free feed of an action match then suddenly 600+ users find the time to watch it. However when there is a charge then it drops to 100 or so.

I wonder if the price isn't the problem. Not the VALUE - that is outstanding, the amount of content to amount charged is fantastic.

But for advertisers it comes down to how many people will see my ad. Looking at the free feed numbers vs. the PPV I would be more inclined as an advertiser to pay an advertising fee to keep the feeds "free" to users so as to attract more viewers.

Does the quality of the feed go up when more people use it? If not then I DON'T want more people on it :-) Just kidding, I am sure that the provider can handle tons of traffic.

Maybe TAR should broadcast a really crappy feed on Ustream along side the PPV with a big caption - WANT to SEE THIS ACTION in BETTER QUALITY - Just $25

Who knows - I just want my nitty updates today ok. Got a sweat bet on the Lion! TAR - I will Jelly you up with 25% of my bet if I win. :-)

I agree, the numbers on the free feeds are very good,i think if it takes off and they get 1000s of viewers then the sponsors will be eager to give them better sponsorship dollars so they wont have to do PPV because as you said its all about numbers and exposure. :)

The day TAR has its own network, or get a PPV channel on directv, will be the happiest day of my life (regarding pool when not actually playing it.):)

I like the format of five sets to 21 each instead of the race to 100. With the race to 100 the player that jumps out to a 10 game lead very rarely loses. In fact I don't think anyone has caught the front runner after the first day on TAR yet. Johnnyt

Color of Money, Between Earl and Efren, Efren down to 17 or so but came back to win the race to 120 on the last day. just thought its interesting :)
