Ali Express Billiard Ball Cleaner? Anyone seen or used one?

My worry would be the QA on the electronics--poor soldering, wiring, etc. The units finding their way to the US might be the ones rejected by local markets. That being said I regularly buy electronic and tooling stuff from these sites and never have had a problem with anything beyond replacing power supplies, but I've never gambled $300 on their service.
Who warranties these? Nobody most likely. Once you get it its yours. If i wanna gamble with 300bux i'd rather go to the casino. ;)

Well it was AlExpress that did shaft job in wife. Show a doll with five outfit, she ordered, got cheap Carnival Game Prize.

Let’s say it was dealing with bait, and switch outfit.

Guy in UK died review on a pair of look a like Road Bike Shoes. Their faux copies, last no time at all.

Would never do anything with that company but run away from.

AliExpress is not the maker of anything. Its just a marketplace like Ebay. Just a e-commerce platform. Info: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/safe-shop-aliexpress/ Buyer beware. I wouldn't buy stuff there with your money.

No warranty or support (beyond what you can find on the internet) for anything sold through these sites. Shipping back to China is incredibly expensive. The Chinese government subsidies their post office so shipping from China to America is incredibly cheap, which is why you can buy stuff for $10 on these sites (ali express, alibaba, banggood) with free shipping to the US.

Hell we are all serious pool players if even considering a ball cleaner. I’m sure every one of us has bet a $300 set at some point. I don’t see this as too risky. They probably sell hundreds of these every year maybe more. The Chinese are fanatics about cleaning. I bet it will hold up for years in a home environment.

I’d say for a serious pool player the biggest “risk” is they don’t oscillate the ball as well as a Diamond. But neither does any other polisher.

Just pray you don't have to return it. Shipping something like that back to China will run you at least $250bux. $500 for a made in usa Diamond doesn't look so bad now.

This is a version I considered, but I went the DIY route instead:

It probably comes out to $400 and 6-12 month wait if you actually purchased the item. The Cleangleam seems like a much better buy (and a local guy that supports pool) if not the Diamond.

I have the standard DIY bucket polisher which I think does a crummy job as the balls clack together and there isn't enough force to really polish anything.
you have to think outside the box

those orbital polishers work even better if you use microfiber bonnets. i like the idea of using two like that. balls look good after. the 10" buffers at harbor freight work fine and they're cheap.

Thank you. I was not too happy with my DIY version but I think I’ll spend the $25 at harbor freight. It looks like the buffer on top will help cause the balls oscillate more than they have been. If this works out I’ll be happy to save the $500 or so I was considering spending.

My friend just throws them in his dishwasher. I know it’s not recommended, and I won’t recommend it. But they do come out shiny as hell. He hasn’t had an issue yet and he keeps them clean. After a year they still play the same. ……For $700 you can get 4-5 used sets of super pros…..

Made a cleaner similar in working to a Diamond, out of stuff I had laying around. Only stuff I had to go and buy, was a couple pieces of pvc unions, and a 2' carpet square, about $10 total for me. Everything else I had, but if I had to buy all, about $80. Video is short, but balls random rotate with floating center star, and on/off switch locks on. If I were to do again, I would just hole drill a center star to save time. Cleans the balls fantastic, but the static electricity is horrible. A friend of ours has a Ballstar, and if I were to spend good money on a cleaner, that is what I would buy. She uses it a couple times a week, and has been using it for years, and it just does a fantastic job. Had to just add a still pic of it, as I tried a short video clip, and it was too large, then after reducing, it said wrong file type.

Rarely have I seen such consistently positive reviews for a product as with these Diamond ball polishers. But try as I might, I just can't bring myself to pull the trigger. In Canada I'm looking at over $1000CAD for the single platter. Toying with the idea of building my own...but I do like the look and the reviews of that Diamond polisher.

Try a bucket polisher first. Only gonna cost you about 30-40bux. For occasional home use they work fine. Lots of YT videos on making them. If you make one use a microfiber bonnet. Works better than the soft/fluffy ones. Get them on Amazon cheap.

100% agreed. This is exactly my experience also, DIY buffer/bucket setup works excellent, $40 total, 1 trip to Amazon and/or HW store and you’re in biz.

This is the first DIY I have seen that looks like it doesn't actually harm the balls. I have seen all of the videos of DIY bucket cleaners and the balls constantly clack and rub together. It doesn't take an engineer or physics major to figure out that is rapidly aging the finish on the balls. This setup seems to pretty much emulate the Diamond technique. May give this a try. Any ball polisher where the balls touch each other is probably doing more harm than good in the long run.

Just buy a diamond polisher and be done with it. The duals are obviously way more convenient but it's not a big deal to clean the balls in two runs with the single platter. That's what I have and it's cheaper.
