All about Ra!

Ra is great at interviews, introductions, and announcements. This is where he really excels with his high energy style which gets everyone pumped up and excited.

As a commentator he has room for improvement. The last stream of his I watched was the International Open streamed on fb live. It seemed like he was more focused on having people share and like his stream, and responding to chat room questions than actual providing good commentary.

He's great for the sport and Matchroom found where he fits in best. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him in the future.

Yep, he fits right in out there in front of the live crowd. You've got the High Energy part right too.

Thanks for the kind words.. Let me spread some light on the above situation..
I was hired by Accustat's to Promote the International Open..They weren't going to show the Shane/Woodward match.. I changed Pat's mind and we did it together..The purpose of the stream was to promote the event by bringing awareness to the event by increasing the social media numbers..I had Em Frazer on as a guest to speak about the Upcoming US Open..And I had the legendary Freddie The Corneman"Agnir there with me doing the play by play.. I hope that this info helps...And thank you to everyone who rocks with me.. Thank you..

Let me help you out ,first of all it wasn't my stream it was Accustat's International Open stream, My job to promote that stream, second I had Em Frazer as a guest on the stream and we answered all questions about the upcoming US Open..Thirdly I had Freddie Agnir "Cornerman" doing the play by play.. I hope this helps explain that particular situation.. Thank you though for your kind words..!!!!

You do a good job of commentating as well as promoting. I love your stream. I do think you have reached your peak as a commentator. So some room for improvement but nobody is perfect. Always room to improve. And I hesitate to even say that because the things I would be tempted to change are some of the same things that help you create a raving fan base.

For example - watching Efren in Duluth you were going crazy to the point it sounded like you were a fanboy - which can turn people off. YET I was so engaged I was cheering and laughing out loud to the point my wife asked me what I was doing and she started watching and rooting for Efren - and she doesn’t even like pool or know who Efren is.

In other words - you are doing something differently than the pool community is used to and it has the potential to be big for you and pool both. Making pool fun to watch is the biggest obstacle to getting large viewership and sponsorship. You have that intangible that draws people in. Keep that! Don’t get boring. Don’t stop promoting. Keep that energy.

So my only advice would be to be yourself and keep doing what you do. If you are looking to improve find professionals who do something the way you would like to and then study them and possibly reach out.

By now most of us know who Ra Hanna is and if not you should. He and Beau Runningen have been doing streaming reports from Mezz tour events and other pool tournament for some time now. In case you don't know, Ra is this handsome and robust tan man who has it all together and has proven to be an asset to any event he is part of.

That said, this past week was a breakthrough for him and our sport when he took center stage at the recently completed U.S. Open, serving as emcee of the festivities during the breaks between games of the televised matches on Day Three. Ra lit up the room, filled with 700 pool aficionados, and brought some high energy to the proceedings. The crowd loved him and got behind his whole schicht, having fun while we waited for the match to restart after the break. Those watching on television or DAZN didn't get to see Ra at his best, and they missed out on one of the best parts of the day.

I'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of Ra at future events put on by Matchroom and others. I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge him publicly on here. I believe he posts on here, but I'm not sure under what name.

Jay,
Nice post, timely and right on the money.
Ra is an asset to our community which we can all look forward to for years to come.

Yup, Ra did a great job. He's a natural and even when he's outside the arena, he is teeming with personality and is always smiling.
