Just FYI, all the matches at the King of the Hill Invitational will be recorder and for sale soon after the event on the IPT Website. If you check out the player groupings on the web site...there are going to be some pretty sporty matches!

Thanks Deno!! Any idea on the price?

Important question from across the pond - will the DVDs be "Region 0", meaning that they can be played anywhere in the world, or are they going to be "Region 1" meaning that they can only be played in America or on Multi-Region DVD players in the rest of the world?

The case against "Region 1" and for "Region 0" is that it could mean more international sales (and considering this is the INTERNATIONAL Pool Tour, I'm thinking that is the aim!).

Good luck with everything!

DVD's for sale soon after the event? It is a couple of months ago since the King of the Hill now...

When are the other matches available for sale? I want them now!!! ;)

Deno.....perhaps you meant to type the matches of the IPT North American Open 8-Ball Championship will be recorded and for sale soon after the event. The King of the Hill Invitational was months ago.

Look at the date on the original thread post. Someone trotted this thread out from last year sometime. :/

Can you give us some approximate prices on the DVD's?

I know that the Sigel/Reyes match in the past cost a whopping $50 USA, which in my opinion is far,far too expensive.I also think Accu-stats matches at $25-$30 are a little too expensive as well, especially the older DVD's that can be re-copied for a mere 40 cents per DVD blank. Why so much???
At least Accu-stats costs although expensive aren't through the roof like a $50 IPT DVD is.

When you can buy an older DVD of a Hollywood movie (for $5-$10) that cost millions of dollars to make, why are pool matches so damn expensive. In the movies the actors/actresses get paid millions of dollars. The pool players for Accustats only get a dollar or two for every DVD sold that they play in.Only a handful of populiar players like Reyes get a decent cheque.

In my opinion if matches were say a reasonable $10-$15, I'm sure a ton of people(including myself) would buy them.At $50 a pop, only coke dealers, thiefs, strung out pool junkies and the richer crowd amongst us need apply.

ps. Sorry for the rant because I'm sure Dino Andrews and Pat Flemming will tell us that production costs, including paying commentators and TV stations are probably pretty high.

This must be some strange, new definition of the word "soon" that I wasn't previously aware of...

Let me repeat myself (from three posts up, even):

Look at the date on the original thread post. Someone trotted this thread out from last year sometime. :/
