Understood that the SBE has been going on for several years and they want to play by their own rules and that's perfectly understandable. Isn't that basically what every promoter wants? So since the event does not conform to the ABP's stated guidelines for sanctioning I'm left wondering what is the basis for the sanctioning? Were the top 16 seeded by the ABP? About the only thing for sure is that the incoming player will have the option on ANY miss.

It's reasonable to ask of the OP why sanctioning was granted to an event that didn't meet their guidelines when they started a thread saying it did.

I'd also be curious to see if the SBE will go to winner break next year since there is plenty of time to incorporate that change.

Didn't exactly mean to open a can of worms, I don't feed on being confrontational. The thought just occurred to me is all and I didn't think it was unreasonable to ask. I'm particularly curious how the seedings were determined since they are not listed on the brackets and the ABP doesn't have rankings listed on their website. I mean the way I recall SP posting how seedings would work, the #1 seed would be at the top of the bracket and the #2 seed at the bottom so that these two would meet as late in the tournament as possible. But the chart shows Dechaine/Kennedy at the top and Tetreault/Zvi at the bottom. Assuming Dechaine is the #1 seed does that mean that either Tetreault or Zvi is the number 2 seed in this field?

Apparently the ABP signed off on the seedings because they sanctioned the event and Allen Jr. said they will work with the ABP to determine this. I'm just trying to understand is all.
