The title is wrong. Total misconception. Look at how many years it took Allison to be eligible to represent the US of A. And how many governing bodies got to be involved.
Gorst might be looking to play for the USA in future, but thus far he could only hoist these banners at WNT events (because some female decided he could). For the rest of the sound world of sports, he is not American yet. Yes, most probably he will be. But who knows, maybe he will have to spend more than half of his years there and still not be able to do that (just like Allison Fisher).

He's ours, quit crying 😁

Since cable tv and ESPN it always felt like Allison is American.

Thats what good American programming does. Back in the days when entertainment was American owned.

Career pool player that is a standard.

Champion of two disciplines at early age. Not many cueists are dual competitors and duel world champion even more rare.

Quit crying in your Borsht, comrade.

As a teenager, about the best thing in my pool world was watching allison and Black widow play on ESPN. Talk about easy on the eyes!

Could potentially Styers wife play for the US? No idea how marriage effects citizenship.

I was certain someone would call this out ;) I couldn't care less, just it is crazy how people are running ahead of things.
@rexus31 same towards your witty point. I don't have a dog in this race, so please don't even dare to start :)
@trob internet warriors, modern era. Your imagination is beyond reality.

Back in the days I could never think AZB would turn into such a dumpster. There are some great AZBers left, but now I see the point many turned away and preferred leaving for the good, posting at FBook.

If they’re married she has a Green Card (US residency), after 2 years the Green Card becomes permanent no matter if they get divorce.

It seems like Mrs. Styer’s legal status is about the same as Gorst’s.

…source: had a crazy Venezuelan ex-girlfriend that tried to get me to marry her.

I'm sure joking around is what caused people to leave.

BTW, did anybody "like" your comment?

Only referring to the Allison part of your post, she could have probably represented the USA 20 years ago. I don't believe she wanted to.

Well bless my soul. What terrific news for us and Allison. I have always thought of her like I have about Ewa Mataya Lawrence! Both are exemplary individuals that have done more for women’s pool than 99% of us realize.

To my knowledge both are squeaky clean professionals and are an excellent example of what can be accomplished in America.

It’s a better day just hearing this news!!
