Ok I've known about it since March (found out the day before I left for the Super Billiards Expo) that I had to move to Houston. Drove down from Pittsburgh this week and now I live in Cinco Ranch, Katy TX!

So where is the closest pool room to me that has 9ft Diamond Tables? Seems like over the past 5 months there is always something going on in/around Houston.

Please supply specific address that goes into the Garmin GPS. Right now I don't know where the hell I'm going.......but I did manage to get to the EZ Tag store.

Appreciate any help/advice about the pool rooms.

You live just around the corner, so to speak. There really aren't a lot of 9-footers in Texas believe it or not. The closest place to me is about 10 minutes away on 59 - and they only have 2 9-footers. Let me give this some thought and see if I come up with any others.

BTW, Cinco Ranch is pretty nice. We head that way for awesome Tex-Mex frequently.

Not a lot of 9 footer's???

There plenty of 9' foot tables with 20 - 30m of you. All the Slick Willies pool halls have 9 foot tables (2) and they are all over town, there one a few miles from you on I-10 a few exits west of Fry road.

Fast Eddies (2 locations I-45 south ans FM 1960) has 4 - 9' Olhousens, Clicks has 3 - 9' Gold Crowns _ Hwy 290 @ Holister

Boggies has 7 - 9' Gold Crowns - 1960 east, Big Time Billiards has 2 -Diamonds 9' and 2 - 9' Gold Crowns....., the list is endless, more pool halls here than any city in the country!

I would agree. I've only been to Houston once and didn't play but, in Austin and San Antonio there is a poolhall in each direction with all 9's and I love the Texas poolhalls I've been in because I never see one 7 footer. Just got back from Austin and man it was hawt. Not a day under 103 the whole week I was there.

Hot is right!

We dont get a break until Oct, but then its spring like weather for 2 months - fall/winter Dec-Jan and spring again from Mar-May....., then HELL starts again in June-July-Aug!!! 100+ for the last 18 days!

Deep Pockets has ALL Diamonds!! Alvin,Tx

Legends has 3 Diamond 9fts, 8 8ft Diamonds and about 11 Brunswick 8fts

4 9fts and 16 7fts! Awesome room too!

It's ironic to be in Texas - with so much real estate for a pool hall - and see it filled with 8-footers and only a couple 9's. In NY, where the price per square foot is outrageous, you have to really search to even find an 8' table!

As indicated, if you are looking for a place with just a couple 9' tables, they are around. But you're not going to find one that's filled with them!

That's because most room owners are probably trying to cater to the newbie-to-average poolplayer. They want to make balls, and a 9-footer proves to difficult for them. You've gotta have the "average Joe" poolplayers dropping $$$ in your room if you want to stay in business.

Welcome to Texas. All of the suggestions made are good ones. There are places to play 3 cushion and snooker if you are interested in those games. If I had to name one room in the area that is my favorite it would be Deep Pockets in Alvin. I also like Legends, Bogies, Big Tymes and Fast Eddies Fuqua.

Well have a good time exploring the city there is plenty to do here no matter what your interests are.

congrats, welcome to Texas aka heaven. cant help you the Houston area but if you're ever up Fort Worth way give a shout, can point out a few places for you

Closest Nine Footers to Cinco Ranch

I would expect Slick Willies at I-10 and Westgreen is closest room with 9-foot tables to Cinco Ranch. They have three (3) 9-foot tables and the rest are 8-footers.

They recently did some renovations (down sizing) - so the details on Slick Willies website are not accurate for the table count.

Sorry to hear about your move to Texas... I was born there & lived there for 32 years. I found out the Sun was my enemy. One day I moved to Seattle. The sun was blocked by the clouds, but it never rained in my home, my car, any dance halls or Pool Halls I frequented. The Sun couldn't bake me or my brains.

I enjoyed the mountains & the ocean of the West Coast.

One day I retired from BOEING & had to move to Oklahoma because of family reasons. Now I'm once again living a a sunny hell hole in the South.

However, Tulsa is a good Pool town, so is Dallas, Austin & Houston. But I'm a fan of 40-60 degree weather & longing for my move back to the North West....
