Confident people don't normally go around defending, accusing and bullying, causing such a fuss. Do a little studying and you will quickly find out that
insecure people do all that. (Your shrink will confirm this.)
If you will notice, you do not have a bunch of the big name cuemakers in here, arguing with you, partly because they ARE confident. Your attitude speaks loudly for itself and is not worth them losing their good reputation over. They do not need to toot their own horn. The time they spent waiting for customer satisfaction to speak out for them was time well spent. Obviously, you are either extremely impatient and/or you are extremely insecure about your own product, so you have to toot your own horn to get the word out as fast as possible.
This is NOT a tough crowd and you DON'T have to be tough to be a part of this place. You just have to know when to stop. All of us get a bit carried away, once in a while. You're digging a hole. I know more than enough about you, already, and it's gonna take a lot of "different" attitude to make me like you. I am very unimpressed and I am sure I am not alone.
Very well said by cubswin. I have seen the same and have a lot of respect for them, also. I believe given a little time, pleasant attitude and proven customer satisfaction (which also takes TIME), a cue business has often been known to grow well in this environment. Yes, some of the top dogs can be tough, but if you are a newcomer, you have to realize when to get off the ESTABLISHED resident cuemakers' toes and allow yourself the time to gain the same kind of established reputation. Or, blow it with a very insecure attitude.
Webster's New World Dictionary:
nice -
1. fastidious; refined
2. delicate; precise; subtle
3. calling for care, tact, etc.
4. pleasant, attractive, kind, good, etc; a generalized term of approval
If you ever give yourself a chance to BE a really nice guy and your quality is as good as you say, you will find that your business will thrive, regardless of where you find yourself posting. (And you WON'T be so busy defending yourself.)
I do not consider my cuemaker, nor any other cuemaker "lowly" unless he chooses to be so. Obviously, that is your choice.
I am wondering why your iTrader number is 0. I thought your attitude was helping you sell cues???
You will seldom ever find me speaking up in this manner, but you obviously need someone to say it for you... I know I speak for many others, besides myself, when I say that you could not pay me enough money to own a cue made by a person with such a poor attitude about himself. A little self-respect and a lot of patience could take you a long way.
Sad situation.
