or were they upsets at all?

Can it be we're witnessing a changing of the guard at the top of rotation pool?

I watched every Bigfoot match and got my gambling liver shot out over picking wrong most of the way. Watching young guns like Filler and Gorst knocking off Orcullo and Shaw were real eye openers. And I don't think I'll ever go against JL Chang again, this guy is a ball making machine!

Is Jayson all washed up now? lol I don't think so. Why he lost his match against Fedor, imo, is I think he's too great for his own good. I watched him try to take on a couple super human shots that no one in their right mind should consider but he's so supremely confident, and with good reason, that these few which just barely missed, were enough to sink him because Fedor hapened to be on his A+++ game.

Shane went down to Chang; no shame there. It did make me wonder though, if they played 10 matches would SVB win half? At this moment in time I'm thinking no but I could be

I think I got this right; check out this stat: In his match against Orcullo, Filler broke and ran 8 racks and ran 2 more racks after Dennis dry breaks. His TPA was something over .950. On a 10 footer!:thumbup::thumbup:

Are Shane, Dennis and Alex part of the old guard now?

One quick shout out to Accu-stats for the perfect video quality provided thus far. Aside from my poor liver, it's been very enjoyable to watch.

Shane had a couple brutal scratches near the end that might have turned it around, but Chang might be the guy at the top of the heap right now.

It's still 75% a breakers game. When Filler was killing Dennis, he was breaking well and had a good look at the first shot. Had he not dry break vs Chang, he would've won.

Shane shot a .913 in the match he lost to Chang....
....913 wins a way more matches than it loses...

#1 I'm pretty sure that's the highest level of play as a whole we have ever seen in this tourney which was awesome.

#2 Alt break works as designed, even 4 game leads were manageable to come back from. Pressure definitely bursts pipes.

#3 Filler is the new Jayson Shaw, except he's better at everything. That's not a bad thing either, I'm just certain he's about to be in the world top 5 for the next decade or so and he's just warming up.

#4 Chang paid his dues and his grind should always be respected. He's even money versus earth...in any game. He may never win the big one, but that won't matter.

#5 With all of that said, if the pockets are tightened just a hair...I believe all the usual suspects will rise back to the top. I see some great shooters and great breakers, but they aren't top flight movers yet. When they learn to really play I think we say the guard is changing. Right now, we are just on high alert.

After all the good records Tiger woods set
i can not remember anyone suggesting they make the hole smaller

Pool is very silly about this

I guess SVB is over the hill since someone got a hot streak against him

I am really confused by the changing of the guard so quickly

chang isn't really new.. iirc he played in one of the matchroom WPCs back in the early 00's. he has always been good but he seems to have added a gear in the last couple of years.

shaw's biggest opponent is himself and his overconfidence. his shot percentage calculator needs calibration

Sorry this is a bad comparison. Unlike golf pool has no standard pocket size that all pro tournaments play on.. golf does have standards.
