Amboyna Monster Cue, Szam/Mottey/BB ????

I'd say Mottey cos of the ringwork, but James White cos of the buttcap.....but overall I'd pick Mottey.

fitt and finish

Fit and finish does not say Mottey or James White to me. I'm guessing it is of Philippine origin.
could you please elaborate on the fit and finish comment. what are you seeing in the pictures?? what you think?? and WHO MADE IT??? and another thing, and i don't really care myself but why has nobody piled on about being in the for sale thresd when it is not for sale?? hopefully everyone has cooled down about that. and another thing
WHO MADE IT ???

the Pics can not bring out all sharp Details.
I was searching in the Thread Wanted/Sale Section and then make a new Thread in this section, but I want make my Thread in the Cue Gallery Section.
So that's why is here.
Who made it?????????

i've seen a similar type of buttcap from richard black but this doesnt look like a richard black cue.

i doubt that this is a mottey or a white. Similar design but there's something about those inlays in the handle that don't really seem to indicate Mottey shop. I'd go with Miranda or some other Phillipines maker.

If the pictures are accurate and not distorted, the inlays all look a little out of proportion to me. Just look too big and clunky.

It isn't a Mottey, I would bet on that. Those diamond rings are not sharp enough. The joint caps do not match perfectly on the shaft/joint. In the one picture the cap is hanging over the edge of the shaft/joint and the rings do not line up.

I think the design and wood combination is interesting but the overall fit and finish of the cue does not look like the work of one of the American Masters. Factor in the posters previous pride in a Ginacue copy that cost as much as the original and I think we can rule out Schick, White, Mottey, Stroud, Black Boar, or Ernie.

I guess maybe Black could of done it, but I dont think so.

I agree with the consensus: Phillipines or somewhere close, not a top American maker.

I don't know why,but the Phillipinos seem to favor wrapless cues. This cue is nowhere close to a master cuemaker's work. I think you might be dissing both the cuemakers you mentioned and your fellow AZer's by implying that stick is by one of those masters.

I agree that is Philipino. The work and design are very similar to all the cues you see from there.

Dave

that was my first thought but i didn't think he collected anything but american made cues, i'm not sure why i thought this, so i ruled that out. i guess we'll have to wait till he lifts the suspense  :)
