American World Straight Pool Champion 2009?

I can't see how that means that Lou hates Max.

Please explain.

a) Max asks for backers to fund a trip to a tournament.

b) This guy butts in and goes negative trying to hurt his chances.

Why is it any of his business whether Max gets some backers to fund a trip to a tournament?

alstl...I have asked Lou to refrain from any more comments, unless it is positive, or about joining the Mad Max Backer Group Fund. He willingly complied. I ask you to please let this go, so we can focus on the last bit of fund raising, that we need, to get Max to NJ. Thank you, for your cooperation. :D

I did contribute before you posted this. I always try to stay positive. If I see somebody who needs help I will either help them or wish them the best, but if I see somebody giving them a hard time then I intervene.

I won't be able to watch the pay-per-view webstream of the event but I wish Max the best.

alstl...Yes sir! I did see that, and added you to the list. Thank you very much for joining the Mad Max Backer Fund Group. :D Certainly there will be updates on Max's matches on here, for those that cannot watch!

Mr. Crockett, excellent post, and thank you for your insight into differen't ways people can be judged. If Max, or for that matter if anyone had to live up to all of our expectations on what makes a person worthy to support, than very few if any would pass the test. Max happens to be an excellent player with the capabilities to win any event, and in addition to that he certainly qualifies and passed the test on building character through integrity.

I would like to donate $200 to the pot, and if Max does well he can keep my % no matter what it is. Play good Max, and even if you don't do well i'm not mad at ya. Stay at a nice hotel.

Jay Helfert will pay my $200 and I will get it to him the next time we see oneanother. OK Jay?

Billy your a great man, my friend, a mentor and a few other great things I cant think of now. You awalys make the right move just the right way or say the right thing at the right time. Thanks for helping Max and being who you are.

sincerly,

eric

Max lived with me for about 5 months this year, until i closed the house in Vegas and moved to LA, When you live with someone you get to know them well. Max is a great person/player/artist whom I learned alot from. We played pool on ocassion, he gave me a few lessions, I learned one thing from him that really helped my game. Thanks Max.

After this is over I'd like to find action with me and Max as scotch doubles partners, we play good together. We'll save that for another day, Right now lets get Max in that 14.1 tournment. I believe thats his best tournment game.

Thanks Scott for putting this together. That is a very nice move for you. Max because of his lack of posts here would have had a hard time organizing this. Max is more of a reader and listener than a talker. I hope your doing good.

Eric...Max and I both have a tie to Jack White, and I've known Max a long time. When I saw his post, I had no idea what he had been up to recently. I've seen him sporadically, over the years...in Vegas, or L.A., or at the SBE. I just felt like we, as a group, could get this done...so I picked up the ball, and ran with it (with a lot of help from Black-Balled)! TOUCHDOWN! Max can go to NJ, with the confidence that all he has to do is play HIS game, and he has a great chance to win it all!

I had no idea you had closed up your house in Vegas. What happened to the wedding thing? Last time I talked to you (May), I thought it was going well. Hope you're doing well too, and I hope to at least have dinner with you, when Patti & I are in L.A., in November! :D

Thats great you and everyone stepped up and got Max sorted out for this, 14.1 I think is his best tournment game. I'd love to see him do well or win!! He has a legit shot for sure, if he comes to play and is prepaired.

I was closing up the house in May when the BCA was going on, That when Max moved, I left shortly after. I go back to Vegas now only when I have to for biz, the wedding thing was never a "real" biz, i did it to cut down on the carring costs of the house, in jan/feb I was selling weddings like crazy and didnt know what i was doing(well my employees were). march/april/first part of may, I cancelled 70% of the biz i sold and didnt have any new sales-the Vegas economy collapsed. So I shut it down, I lost a few hundred thousand-maybe 5. That was terrible timing to lose $$$, I been running cold on everthing. So I moved to LA. I dont play much pool here, but i like it better.

I dont know where i'll be in Nov, but if i'm here I'd love to see you. I need to get a new biz going and when, what or where is up in the air. I am leaving Vegas for sure, its a disaster. I will keep a condo and my residency there-but thats it, i wont be there often.

I really hope Max does good here and thanks to you and everyone again for doing this for Max. His book is great too-everyone who plays pool should read it.

You've got Yogi Bear as your avatar and I'm the moron?

Stop it, you're killin' me.

lol, still chuckling

I have a good read and I can bet another 2 cents of yours that you were neither laughing out loud nor chuckling.

Anyway, good luck for your qualifications, sir.

A nice chapter

I once read a quote that went something like this: "The measure of a man is not how big his home is, but how many people he opens his home to in his lifetime." Eric did welcome me to his home and I lived in one of his guest houses for 5 months. He let me borrow one of his cars when I needed it and play pool in the best home pool room in the world. We did have a lot of great conversations in the pool room and over world class esspresso which he taught me how to make like a pro on this insane amazing espresso machine. He introduced me to many of his friends and welcomed me to join him at many a world class dinners filled with made by his private chef with lots of laughs.

I'm sorry his wedding business did not work out as it was lots of effort involved but that's business and I'm sure he'll find another one that does because that's what great business minds do.

I can say Eric is one cool, interesting, and smart guy. I'm happy be a friend and to have been able to help your game Eric. I have seen some incredible shots out of you. That really was a nice chapter in my life and I wish Eric and his lady Kelly only the best. Thanks my friend. And a scotch doubles match-up sounds like a great idea in the future, we did do some damage haha!
