Amway cup results

I missed the very end of that one. My dog decided to pee
I seriously considered punt kicking that dog off the planet.

Actually Gerda missed going into the side pocket (caught the point), that let XTP go hill hill with the break and and she wasn't about to mess up from then on.

Y C Lin already won again 7-2 her round 4 match against Julie Kelly. She is flyin through RR play.

Lin is winning each mach with BIG scores. Thay girl is in the zone for 2 days.

Bad news for my protégé. She lost this morning BIGTIME vs fu with 1-7.
Lookds very bad... I still think she will win her next 2 matches. I do hope she wins from Gerda, dan i know what her chances are in the european championschip if she plays in the woman instead of the girls division. Orfandis should be no problem, but still .... some very low scores. I hope the stress is not getting to her, and she plays her best with no regrets.

Gerda vs lee life now

My protégé vs orfandis after there match i hope

YC lin, just won her last match and is the girl to beat

she lost only 4 frames in all her matches.
7-1
7-1
7-0
7-2
7-0

That says enough i think

IMPRESSIVE

Jeanette lee loses 7-2 vs gerda, wich is good news for kamilla. Who knows, she might even still have a chance? need to do the math.

edit: if she wins her next 2 matches, and lee only wins 1 frame she goes trough if its not individual results who descide... :( bad news.

curently its

Fu.........28 wins ---- 17 losses
Pan.......25 wins ---- 19 losses
gerda.....23 wins ---- 21 losses
lee........22 wins ---- 16 losses
kamilla...10 wins ---- 19 losses (1 match less played)

Solartje,

Kamila vs. Gerda, winner goes through! A lot of pressure on her. How will she handle it? Early playoff!!!

Also, Jeanette vs. Xio-Ting Pan, winner goes through!

Losers of each go home!!!

Thanks Ed. I find it interesting how many women remaining are NOT members of the WPBA tour. Of course, some of the best WPBA pros are still alive. I tend to agree with Sarah, the home court advantage is huge in this event. I believe you must get there a minimum of three days prior to the event to adjust to the time change.

There definitely should be practice tables available for players to loosen up before their match. That should be a given in a major pro tournament.

No problem Jay. I have a couple of thoughts with regards to what you said.

1. With reference to the WPBA tour comment, this is a WPA sanctioned event and I think they use their own ranking system. I think a problem is that not many American women are concerned when it comes to raising or maintaining their WPA ranking. If I remember correctly from viewing the WPA website the only WPBA tour event that is counted in the WPA rankings is the year end championship event. Kelly Fisher was a #2 seed in her pool! So the point I'm trying to get to is that some WPBA players had tough seeding issues when it came to this tournament. The seeding in the pools and the order of matches may have played a part in some WPBA players doing poorly and not making out of pool play. This brings me to my next point regarding prep time for a tourney.

2. Take Sarah for example. She was seeded fourth in her pool. Her order of play was that her matches in order were the #3 seed, #2 seed, #1 seed, #5 seed, and then the #6 seed. It seems that she said she was not ready to play at the highest level because she did not have enough time to adjust and prepare, and that may have bit her on the first day. Seeding and prep time both play a role. If she was seeded higher, she may have had a chance to loosen up against a lower seed before playing the higher seeds. This just reinforces the seeding issue mentioned above. Also if she had not had travel issues and had the extra day to adjust, she might have played better in the early matches against the higher seeds in her pool. So most of what was just said backs up your thought on prep time!

Unfortunately for Sarah things did not work out for her this time and maybe more prep time to adjust and higher seeding would help her out.

Jeanette did not make it out of her pool, but her pool was tough, and she was the #1 seed.

So anyways, just some thoughts on what you said.

P.S. I might be going to the Philippines from mid-May to mid-June so might see you there!

Well, Kelly Fisher just lost a brutal match against Gerda. Kelly was up 6:1 after superb play on here part and subpar play on Gerda's. Then after 6:1 it was all Gerda as Kelly only had one good shot after that to take the match.

The last rack was a difficult layout and both players played numerous safeties with Gerda coming out on top and deservedly taking down the win.

Kelly winds up in the top 24 and Gerda continues to carry the torch for Europe.

Allison started out by going 3:0 down against her Chinese opponent and when her opponent missed position on the 7 ball Allison stole that game and never looked back as she crushed her opponent 7:3.

Monica Webb is playing right now and is 3:0 down after a few misses. This rack looks routine so we will see if she can stay steady and run out.

Daisy Chang is giving Monica all she can handle as she breaks and runs to go up 5:0

There were 14 players from Taiwan and 4 from China who started this competition. In the last 24 13 of the Taiwanese players and all four of the Chinese players made it through.

All I can say is that the WPBA is lucky that there isn't a real Asian invasion or the top 20 on the WPBA tour would be mostly Asian based on the level of play these women are showing. It has been said that they have home court advantage but honestly, they can flat out play.
