An affordable fancy south west cue on ebay

One mans..trash is another man's treasure...how often do you see a fancy sw cue..that is priced less than $10K..

yeah the cue was drilled out..but it's still 20oz..which must have been a monster weight before..I always wondered how much that would hurt the value...

but keep in mind this is one of the very early inlaid cues from SW. This brings history to the cue..hence value.

this cue is not meant to be valued by players..but by collectors...as those are the ones that will determine the price. Everyone elses opinion doesn't matter as they won't be the ones interested in putting up the $$

I thought it was overpraid before I read this. Some guy takes a drill to it. Hurt the value? I would think it would hurt it quite a bit. Knowing this, I wouldnt pay 4000 for it. Just ask yourself this. You see a cue you want and find out some guy drilled it out, how are you gonna feel about buying it? I know what I would feel. Feel like walking away. I hope the new owner will be happy with it. And I didnt think we were supposed to post up Ebay links to cues that werent ours? Just seems that a lot of people have been flamed in the past for doing the very same thing. Guess this is an exception. Nothing like bumping other peoples' for sale threads down so we can look at an Ebay auction that arent even ours. Just saying.

i have put up a ebay link here on az in the past and within minutes, i received a message to remove the link from a azer who is interested to bid and buy the item.according to him, he didnt wan people to know about the auction. since then on, i have never put up any links to ebay. i avoid ebay as usually seller sell cues that are imperfect in some ways.
maybe this one is worth the money.

Agree with Howie and subdude, to an extent. No doubt the drilling killed this cue, BUT, this cue was already forked up. It was essentially an error that escaped the factory. Yes, it was one of the earliest fancy SW's, but not THE first. And if you saw the inlays, they are crap. My neighbors 12 year old kid could've done better.

So, how much did the drilling really kill the cue??? Have SW do the repair work, and it's my humble opinion this cue should retain 90+% value it had pre-drilling.

The funniest part of this is... had David made this cue at SW back in the day, screw-ups and all, it'd be worth $10,000 in some sellers eyes ;)

All in all, cool cue anyway... and no doubt, it's worth some bucks.

I totally agree!

This Fancy Southwest Franklin is being auctioned off on Ebay again. I believe this is the third time in the last year or so. If I remember correctly the second time it was auctioned the seller had a LOA however, the current auction does not mention an LOA or the fact that the butt was drilled out. Anybody have any additional information on this cue?

Looks as if current seller has just edited the description from when it was sold about a year ago on ebay. Zero feedback and no mention of the LOA.
Buyer beware.

This cue was in China when I last checked about a month ago. If anybody wants the cue or in doubt I can give you the contact. I don't like the owner of the cue to wanna give him any business but if it protects someone here from a potential scam I'd be willing to contact the owner here in China.

Fancy sw

Buyer beware; i bought a sw satin off ebay a few months ago from a guy that had a usa address ,to find out he really lived out of country never saw the cue had to file with ebay an paypal to get my money back ,which i did, but the cue listed again 6 weeks later an it sold again, i would realy watch out about this listing (0) zero feedback maybe the same guy

I wouldn't buy the cue regardless who owns it. It has been drilled out by someone. Unless it is a stupidly insane deal, I would turn and run from this cue.

When I first saw this cue sometime ago...I didn't like how the cue looked. Now, the more I see it; the more I like it. It kinda grows on you...
