An Afternoon w/ Joe Tucker

I spent an afternoon w/ Joe Tucker at Snookers in Providence, RI this past Friday so I wanted to report back for those interested in lessons.

Without getting into boring specifics, all I wanted to say is that they were probably the best and most knowledgeable lessons I've ever received... and I've had a few.

$200 bought me "as long as I needed to get my money's worth"--- which, I must say, COULD have been after the initial 30 minutes. I play a lot of straight pool so he opened-up with some break shot knowledge that had me giggling all the way back to where I was staying in CT.

To top it off, he was nice enough to give me one of his practice books, as well as the book "The Golfers Mind" --- which he thought is a must-read for pool players.

All I can say is I wish I would have seen him long before I made the choice to do so. He comes highly recommended in my book. My guess is he's probably a better fit for someone with some semblance of a game, rather than a total beginner.

Money well spent! Joe is one of the best instructors you will ever find, and he definitely is one of the nicest guys in pool. Good luck - in no time you will be applying that knowledge and receiving a BIG return on your investment!
 
He actually found that I have problems with left english. I've been playing for over a decade and never knew. He setup some drills to prove I hit right-english better than left --- and my jaw dropped. It'll take weeks to fully assess the results, but I'm confident he identified something that's been holding me back. I can't wait to hit the table for a few hours and practice what he showed me.

You couldn't ask for a more thoughtful and knowledgeable instructor. I have had some conversations with Joe lately about his theories on instruction, and it's my personal opinion he's going to revolutionize the way the game is taught.

I agree. Joe's methods are innovative, cutting edge stuff!

I must admit I only really used his numbered aiming system as an "aiming reference;" however after my lesson I see it's a must-know. My big hang-up was aiming an off-center part of the CB to another numbered point on the OB, which was a little hard to get used to. The way it helps you read a straight pool break shot is "THE NUTS."

Steve, Joe mentioned you in conversation during our lesson. I forget the context of what was said, but it was all good things.
 
Thanks Guys, ya gotta know it makes your day when you open up az and see nothing but nice things posted about you.

It was a pleasure to spend time with an educated and willing student like Dave, if I could I would actually pay for this experience myself, I love it and am glad that I?m starting to get back into it. I don?t see too much travel time in my future but I am scheduling some weekend classes for 1-4 students here in RI.

The last couple of years I?ve been away from the game physically, developing the products, online biz and trying to give the fam what they need but I do see a light that is leading me back to the table both teaching and hopefully competing!

Dave I hope to see you again, with your game & attitude you have tons of potential.
