That's right. :eek: That damned toothfairy wouldn't take a dozen or so of my baby teeth and I'd like incorportate them into a custom cue design. There's probably not a whole lot of usable material since they are so small and many of them have fillings. I was thinking of maybe using them to inlay my initials into an ebony butt cap or something. Would it be possible to cut up and work with something so small? Any other ideas for what to do with them?

yea ive done that a few years ago,swung my cue up side a guys head for not paying up.:)

Yes it could be done, no different than an Ivory inlay. The question is will you be able to find some one to do the work. I have a feeling that many people would not do because of what it is.

Yeah, I could see where it might freak some people out. It's not like I killed a guy for his ivories, elephant style. These came out of my very own head on their own 27 years ago. So whaddya say, cuemakers? Anyone do dental work? Referrals? I'd like something done with them.

I think the real problem, is how do you prove that the teeth are really your's.;) I mean you may have dug up a stiff and pulled them out!!!!!:eek:
Hell you may have an entire collection of human bones and body parts, I mean whats next, human skull inlays.

Do you get the idea!!! I mean there are some real strange people running around today, not saying that you are one of them, but your request is a little different!!!!!!!!:D

I think a tooth would be very hard material to cut.
Much like Abalone shell.
It will dull a small end mill real fast.

You mught want to save then for when you get older and need some false teeth made. <grin>
 
don't bother cutting them. inlay them as is, if teeth are such a big deal to you :):)

.....and in their proper order.

btw,,,i guess real teeth would be more valuable than dentures?

Not much could be sicker than killing an elephant for it's tusks. Now that is sick. REAL sick.

Although I love my pork chops as much as any other, what I believe is truly sick is raising and babying cattle, hogs, chickens and such just to slaughter for the picnic table. We give blue ribbons to kids who groom and nurcher and hand raise their pets for 4-H just so that they can be placed on your plate. At least the elephant isn't some ones pet. Just like most animals, at least when it is dead there is something of value left to be remembered. When you die, your body is commercially worthless.

Back in the day they didn't comprehend management of wildlife...people would harvest 50 largemouth bass just because they caught them...now there are limits...bans on ivory...and so on...all the ivory I have is from the '60s or '70s...nowadays there is little poaching as the consequences are severe...
 
Guy's let get back on topic, to the concept of this post. To me there is big difference between using Animal parts in a cue and using Human parts in a cue. I personally would not work on or even consider the addition of any human body parts without some sort of certification that these items were not taken illegally, and I would have no idea how to do that.

Gives me the creeps, personally due to things and situations I have seen over the years.

I dont know for sure, but i would think that using human teeth for inlays would be against the law. With all of the OSHA, CDC, Human activist relation people one could get into a lot of trouble. Not to mention that a criminal investigator is going to want to reserch exactly whos mouth it came from. Next thing you know you are going to be like the "WENDYS" person who found a finger in her frys dispute.

Working with the actual material would be good. Mainaly calcium and phosphorus which would hold up good. You may actually get more yield out of a femur bone though!

Though this is kinda super ew. You could prolly make some nice checkered ringwork with the teeth. But still. Ew.

I love the idea I think I am going to go pull out some of my teeth right now...How many do you think it would take to make a couple of rings... mabey even a veneer!!
