Danny DiLiberto, Grady Mathews and Freddy Bentivegna will again host their annual OnePocket, Straight Pool, and Bank Pool seminar at the Derby City event. The program is 4 ½ hours long, and features an hour and a half each of OnePocket, Straight Pool, and Bank Pool instruction, along with personal interaction, road jackpots and stories from those road rascals. Danny will handle the Straight Pool, Grady will cover Onepocket, and Freddy the Beard will do the last 1 ½ hrs. on Bank Pool. Cost is $100 per person, and will take place at 9 am in Bob Jewetts Straight Pool room at the Horseshoe Casino on January 25th. We had a full room last year so reserve your spot early.

Wow! You can't go wrong with that deal.

I must confess I know nothing of banks, but I do see Freddy plying his trade at Red Shoes with all the younger bloods like Piggy, Jet and the like and those guys sure seem to know what they are doing.

Being a straight Pool fanatic, I have watched Danny in action a little more. I've helped schedule probably between 25-50 hours of lessons for him in Chicago and have recorded video of much of it. And I have watched him on Accustats and it just doesn't get any better. If you don't believe me, ask Stephan Cohen, who after he won the World Straight Pool Championship this year in a field that included Oliver Ortmann, Thosrsten Hohmann and Mika Immonen, said that he owed it all to Danny and that everything he learned about 14.1, he learned from Danny. None other than eminent AZB personality SJM said he had wondered how a Frenchman knew how to play so well, but when he found out about Danny he wondered no more.

And last but not least you have Grady "the professor" Mathews. I understand his best games are One Pocket and Straight Pool. Since I do not play One Pocket either, I cannot speak to that aspect of his game but I have always loved his 14.1 game. His stories are priceless.

Do Yourselves a Favor and Book yourselves a spot before this Seminar fills up.

Oh, and by the way, Freddie, I'm in!

These guys are not only great players and teachers they have never ending pool stories. myself i'm lucky enough to go to gradys poolroom an play pool with him and get to here some really great stories. i'm sure the people that love all the rack poolroom stories would spend the money for a flight to the Legends Old School Pool Seminar at DCC for all the great pool stories. they just might throw in a few hours of lessons.

Jay Helfert has promised to stop by and give us all a hard time with his endless supply of old war stories, Billy Incardona said he would try to give us a few minutes, and the mysterious, legendary Artie Bodendorfer will be there to allow us a tap into his phenomenal Onepocket pool brain. Autographs, of course.
