Another air travel/travel case question - please help

Many of the "top blah blah" lists are done by automated gathering of top sellers or reviews from sites, not people that actually look at the item and compare it. ....
And then there are the Amazon reviews which seem to be done mostly by the sellers. Sometimes the sellers offer a rebate to buyers for a 5-star review. You can get some info from those reviews but you have to read them very carefully, and especially pay attention to the 1-star reviews.

As for my stiff-backed roller-duffel, I got one that had a good warranty. I took it back once when the baggage system broke the base so it could no longer stand up on its own.

In my latest baggage problem (UK Open), it seems that the baggage system managed to drag the wheels sideways -- maybe across the runway -- so both wheels have serious flat spots. Time for a new bag.

Go buy some cheap inline skate wheels....I have done this with great results.

I had no idea about that. I thought size mattered but I'm guessing it's viewed as a possible weapon?
The TSA has a long list of allowed/forbidden items.

OK:

antlers
artificial skeleton bones
bicycle pumps
bocce balls
body armor
camera monopod
canes
crochet hooks -- the granny lobby is powerful
football helmet
handcuffs

Not OK:
baseball bats
bear spray
bowling pins
pool cues

About 2014 there was a bill to allow, among other things, pool cues. The rumor was that the flight attendants blocked the bill.

nobody is gonna use canes, antlers, body armor, 3 fl oz liquid that can contain anything, to hurt people. But OMG, can you imagine what they would do with pool cues?
smh.....

I think the story about updating the list was that it was added on to or some other bill was added to it that people voted against. That lovely practice or taking a bill then adding some sneaky additions to it that have nothing to do with the original thing they are trying to accomplish. We need to add more lights to this town, but also let's add in 300 million for clone soldier research to that same bill or something like that.

I would also add an Apple Air Tag or other tracking device to the cue case or luggage. I have a JB 4x8 Butterfly, it fits inside of my rolling duffle. My clothes fit around it. Air tag is sewn into the cue case. Kind of neat to track it from the plane to baggage.

I use something like this and bury the case with clothes for protection.

Don't like it that much but I'm not sending a cue case as a stand alone piece.

Best solution I've found. Put your cue in a case and wrap the case with your clothes. Then deal with the mess,

was there supposed to be a link in your response?

(I had a problem with the wheels on my big roller-duffel being destroyed by baggage handlers...)

I emailed my sad story to the luggage company and they fedexed two wheels to me for free. Not bad for a duffel I bought in 2008.

The company is Eagle Creek in Colorado.

What many do, including one poster above and myself, is get a bag large enough to put the whole case in (maybe diagonally) and then pack clothes and stuff around it. I have a roller-duffel. It works fine. If I'm paranoid about the hotel staff, I can put the case back inside the bag and zip it up when I'm out of the room.

Some airlines will charge you extra for a separate cue bag.
It's that time when I have to make a decision, so I am thinking of getting this one from Walmart - https://www.walmart.com/ip/PROTEGE-...UE-W-BLACK/432561448?fulfillmentIntent=Pickup

Is this similar to the one you mention?

Something like that. It says 36 inches which should be plenty as long as it's the actual length. Maybe see one in person?
Yeah plan to swing by a local Walmart this weekend and see if they have it in stock. Else will have to see if i can get it shipped to store to arrive within the next 10 days. Now scouring amazon for samsung air tags : )
Thanks!

I went to TJ Max and bought a 42” suite case. My cue case fits in diagonally. I’ll pack all my stuff in it, I just have to make sure it doesn’t go over 50 lbs.
