It is unfortunate that the demonstrator couldn't play pool at all.I would like to hear some of the instructors chime in on this. I think this would be a great teaching aid for learning shape and position.
Or, you could use Cranfield's Arrow for free, and give one to the student to take home.
Very basically, it's a line 1.125 inches long on a piece of paper. Place it correctly relative to the object ball and pocket and it gives you the point the cue ball must pass over.
