Another USPS nightmare...

Acually,It sounds like another pool player scam.I'll bet he told the off shore bookees that he sent the 5000 in the mail and was stolen by these theives and he never really did send the money and used the old excuse..Its in The Mail:D Yeah right. Its illegal to mail currencey thru the mail anyway from what I was told. All these usps stories, its pretty simple..dont use them if you feel they arent honest, but remember this.... over 50% of All us postal employees have served our counrty at one time or another(They get preference 5 bonus points for service and 10 points on the test for combat wounded)and with over 900,000 employees there may be a few bad apples but I would never say they are dishonest and theives. There are many more stories about corruption in politics and police forces than the post office buddy. You oughta be ashamed of your self for even saying these things.

Who is this Rus Chewin? You need to get a picture brother. Joe was just sendin some cues. You belong on another planet!

What? I never said anything to Joe. I was responding to the guy using the postal system to commit tax evasion, and then whining because someone took his money.

Are you saying you approve of doing that? Hmmmmm?

Russ

why do you guys try to save on shipping? you're dealing with expensive items that deserve the very best care.

build shipping costs into the price. or tell the customer that,,, and if he wants cheaper shipping then it's his headache.

i bought a digital camera on ebay from a seller in upstate new york,,,syracuse. he shipped usps priority to me in nyc and it took 15 days!!!!!!! at one point they lost track of the package! i think the mule came up lame.

I had the same issue and usps priority did take 2 full weeks and the guy sent it right away and insured it for 1250.00. The cue arrived safely and It took what seemed like forever to find anything out. Im going to try fedex or overnight service from now on. Hope everything works out for you, I know its a nightmare. Deacon

good point Bruin.Russ you are an IDIOT.it is illegal in my state to wager on a pool game, and it is not illegal to send money in the mail up to a certain amount.i did not commit tax evasion.i wasn't whining about losing the money i just told Joe about my experiences with them.you must work for the USPS.the problem with theivery in the USPS is widespread and documented.Of course not all of them are theives, but some are.no offense meant to honest USPS workers meant by my generalization.Russ you need to get a clue;you are completely off the air.the amount of money i was to receive was completely legal.stealing it was not.if they turned it over to the authorities i would have it in my possession right now.also "nice try,but nooooooooo cigar,"sounds really gay in case you were wondering how it will sound to everyone who reads it.

deacon,,,,fedex 3rd day economy is another, and cheapest, fedex option if you don't mind the three days. i believe it is ground delivery.

fedex has their problems as well. i was waiting for a cue and fedex delivered the cue to the wrong address. and it happened to another az-er in my town,

True, I'm sure that just as certain towns may have sketchy post offices, the same may hold true for FedEx, UPS, and DHL....not to even mention any of the employees there.

Ironically, when USPS or FedEx or whomever provides great service, it almost fails to get mentioned on this board. But for me, USPS has been wonderful, hundreds of perfect shipments with only a few relatively minor issues/delays and nothing ever lost. IMHO, they provide the best service for the price.

Sean :)

I just needed to vent a little...sort of a hopeless feeling where you have absolutely no control over the matter. I just wanted to share my experience because misery loves company, and based on the responses and the USPS experiences, there are a lot of miserable people here on the forum....  :D
Joe

Joe, back to the point....hate to hear about the shipping mishap. I am sure they will turn up and hopefully very, very soon. Take care, Sean

I've had problems with FedEx and UPS (as a shipper and receiver). But no problems with USPS (as a shipper).

Some good news...

One of the 2 cues showed up at its destination. Hopefully, the second will get there soon.

I have shipped a ton of items via USPS and this is only the second time I have had an issue. The other was an Express Mail Overnight Guaranteed that took 9 days to get there.

USPS is SO convenient for me. I have the mailing software so I can simply print out a label, pay through Paypal, schedule a carrier pick-up, etc, and I know my carrier real well. I know I will continue to use them a lot, I just have to pick the best way to go with them.

That is good news. I think the shipping industry is similar to the auto industry in that Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Honda, etc. all have their loyal fans...and loyal detractors, just like USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. Love 'em or hate you will find people that have had great, and awful, experiences with each.

Ups

Cost more. Pays claims faster. Great service. Excellant tracking.
You get what you pay for.
I like usps economicly. I sent a cue literally 50 miles from here and it took a week and a half. Next time I drive!
I was not very happy.
Nick :)

eek.....

I just sent a cue Priority 2-3 day mail today. I hope it arrives on time.. No wait, I hope it arrives period. hehehe.. I have never had a problem shipping Priority mail. Knock on wood.. I did have one problem receiving though. Eric Crisp mailed me a cue back in January of this year from a trade we did. Funny thing is he mailed it in a pvc tube pipe? When it arrived there was no cue in it. Someone cut open the bottom and took it out. I was disappointed as I waited every day by the window for the mail. hehe.. He gladly remade the cue for me and I had it in no time at all. Then a month later I sold it.. :-) emf123 has it now.

Thanks,
Josh Hillard

No matter what carrier you use, you will have problems eventually.

I always use express, trackable and insured shipping even for cheap stuff. It definitely paid for itself already because a couple items did get lost and I got the insurance for it. If I had cheaped out on the insurance and had to eat the losses, it would have cost me far more than what I paid for the uplift in service.

I don't like UPS or FedEx. Despite the problems, the regular postal service is still my favorite. The lesser of all evils :D
