just wondering if there is any action in San Diego

I thought he moved to TX a few years ago. After Sam and Louis Ulrich left, only Victor I. and maybe one or two others play top level (pro or near pro) pool that I can recall in SD.
Dan Wallace might still be in SD, but he seemed to not look for action too much. Great tourney player, though.
I'd just go to the On Cue tourney night and see what's happening. There are still a number of good players in SD who might match up for a little dough.

College has changed and apparently players go to On Cue in La Mesa more often. College does have some heated three cushion tables and is managed by Pedro Pedrabuena, one of the best players in the country.
You might get some action at the Hungry Stick in Claremont. I'm not sure if Mike Defino plays anymore but he's a good player and played there sometimes.
Society has some decent players who will bet light sometimes. Its been five years but my friends Rick, Anthony, and Peter Young used to play there and might bet some. Good local players.
I really need to visit SD again.

Seriously, On Cue Billiards is probably the best bet. Skill levels vary and there are a few kids around willing to gamble a little to improve their games.
