Any Curly Purpleheart Fanatics??

nothing

Hey Brent, lets face it...NOTHINGis sneaky anymore, but I meant the full splice house cue looking cues when I said "sneaky pete cue". Those to me are the closest you'll find to being "sneaky", and I personally don't understand how someone can call a "merry widow" type cue a "sneaky pete". Really, nothing is sneaky anymore, but those cues are FAR from it IMO. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but to me, a "sneaky pete" looks like a house cue and thats it. I hope this clarifies things for ya'. Take care Brent, Jeff

Mine

I had Kersenbrock make a Purpleheart cue for me back in '77. I still have it and have had MANY offers , even up to $3000. It is not now or ever for sale! I have accumilated another 2 original Kersenbrock shafts over the years, I do not really care if the trim rings do not match.
If I can learn how to make a photo and post it here, I will.

Nice cue Brent... :)

I guess I should pipe in now... since this cue will be sent to me one of these days... :)

Pizza Bob, no intention whatsoever to do a duplicate of your Jim Buss cue... just a look-alike in terms of wood combination. It just so happens that I love Curly Purpleheart (thanks to Eric Crisp of Sugartree cues) and Tulipwood (thanks to Kenny Murrell).

So, to see a cue with those two woods combined... and then to have a friend like Brent get to make me a similar cue, well, it was too hard to resist. :)

You should all see the other pics Brent sent me... the cue looks awesome...

Thanks Brent.

thanks noel.
i'm glad you spoke up.
don't want anyone thinking badly of me or you for this cue design.
i knew in my head what the cue was going to look like way before you sent me those pics, just from what we talked about in emails.
now, if i would have tried to replicate the jim buss cue to a t,
then i wouldn't mind being flogged in the middle of fountain square during rush hour
bob, you got yourself a very nice jim buss cue
noel, you got yourself a , "now what's his name again, bert, bart, brad, brett cue, ? "

What are your thoughts on a PH shaft? I was looking at this site and it seems like it could make a one of a kind very beautiful cue with your creativity of PH and Curly Maple. What do you think the playability would be like. Can you do full splice with CM? Not knowing anything about cue building my questions might seem a bit dumb. Will full splice give a better hit? That is one very beautiful cue you have there. Thanks for sharing http://cuecomponents.com/puspbl.html

I own a QB cue with a curly purpleheart handle and curly maple forearm and butt...i would probably call this cue Super Curly. :D
I will try to post pictures of it once I get hold of some time to go down to the pool hall to take some pictures.

I am a curly maple freak and all other woods with curls in them especially curly koa and curly purpleheart. ;)
