Hello, my first post here....
I would appreciate any ideas as to who the cuemaker might be.
All the background I know is the cue first appeared in our local room about 12 years ago. The owner said he had bought it from an estate in N.Y. but I don't know if he meant city or state. The shafts were pencil thin so he had the cue refinished and two new shafts made by Jim Buss. Apparently the cue was unmarked at that time. I've had the cue about ten years. I think the cue dates back to early 80's.
Here's some measurements:
length= 58"
pin = 5/16x18, appears to be stainless and is 15/16" long.
joint= piloted, stainless, 1' long and 3/8's thick.
joint collar= dark linen, 7/16' wide.
4 points= bubinga w/ 4 veneers, holly?, black, green, black.
butt sleeve= bubinga w/ 1/4" ivory Hoppe ring.
butt cap= dark plastic? material, 3/8" wide.
weight pin= brass w/ screw slot and small threaded hole in center.
bumper= none.
I know this is a pretty generic 4 point Hoppe but I hope the combination of pins and thin Hoppe ring might ring a bell.
