Ya I bought the break app for $6 a couple of months ago. It's pretty sweet. My break is usually 20-22mph but my highest was 25mph. Only if I could break like that consistently. It's nice to make some changes to your break form and see if the results are positive or negative. Where else would you get some feedback.
No, definitely not, because the iphone is crap. But I love it on my EVO! Great stuff!
I used it the other day to burst the bubble of a guy who thought his break speed was 60 mph.
the app uses the sound of the cue hitting the cue ball and the cue ball hitting the rack, and calculates your speed based on the table size and the positioning of the cue ball (which you set before you break).Interesting, I don't have the app but I have to wonder how does it measure the speed? I don't think my iphone has a radar on it.. at least that I'm aware of! So is it by sound, volume and pitch? That might explain why it measured a miscue sound so high. I wonder how accurate the app actually is. But at the same time, I kinda want it now
