I am wanting to get a nice break cue (not jump break)... I have been using a players cue forever to break with but want to upgrade to something that hits better. keep in mind i do play in nationals and state sanctioned tournys so it cant have one of those phenolic tips or phenolic ferrules...


If anyone has one for sale I would also be interested in talking with you about it if you would pm me it would be appreciated. Thanks
 
I like the Mezz breakers a lot. Cheap but great is an ordinary Cuetec. Awesome custom is Lomax.
 
how serious are you about your break cue? I mean, there's the standard predator bk2 (which by default comes with phenolic tip, but that's easy to swap out to the samsara). there's the OB Break which seems to be getting a lot of great reviews. There's the combination of those (BK2 butt with ob break shaft; which a lot of people have). There's the icebreaker, the orange crush, the sledgehammer, the powerbreak... and those are just production break cues.

If you had price range in mind, that'd probably narrow down your choices.

250-400 would be ok with me...

Mike Gulyassy's Orange Crusher is really cheap right now. I've got one and love it. I was previously using a Stinger which was good, but not as good.

Right now they're available for $125 plus shipping at babysproshop.com.

Joe Bouska in Texas makes an incredible break/jump. Shaft is from Diamond wood just like the tables from my understanding. Breaks like a freight train. Unusual taper on shaft near joint! Doesn't have a website but someone on here will have his phone number.

I second this! Great, great deal for the money, even if you were to pay the full
$225. I like mine more than I did the early Sledgehammer I had for a while.

You can order a bk2 without the phenolic tip. I forget what type of tip they put on it but you don't have to settle for the Phenolic tip. me, I'm using the BK2 and the OB break shaft. It sends the cue ball quite straight and that's all I'm trying to do on the break, although I have been thinking about Shane's Ten ball break..... lol
