Any update on the Bobby Pickle situation ?

When this first came up i called down to tennesse,nashville sheriffs dept and asked if they had a bobby pickle under arrest there. the nice ladt politely told me that a Robert Pickle age 45 had indeed been arrested and was released from their facility and immediately extradited back to Georgia. for what he was extradited for i have no idea and the nice young lady would not give me any specifics on the case. So all i can say is that he is being held somewhere in Georgia at present awaiting either trial or sentencing. hope that helps you. you could lso once in awhile check the Georgia department of corrections web site and click on inmate info and see if you can find out where he is being held once he is sentenced. thats what i did and found that he had an earlier conviction for armed robbery in 1992. but that was settled several years ago. you can also do a search on this board to see if there is any other updated info. i know there was some discussion asbout him awhile back..........................mike

Sounds like he's in a pickle.
this is horrible I am the one who posted him being in jail awhile back. I guess its true bobby really is is jail.

No, we are not close personal friends, but we have played before and played each other in a couple of tournaments. He has always been fair and a gentleman.
As far as his 1992 ordeal, it is stated that it was settled. That is good enough for me.
Now as far as what is going on now in Georgia, sounds like just pure speculation and I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt. He is not here to defend himself in any way and it probably is not my place to defend him, but this is not the place to speculate.
We can go on and on abobut Freedom of Speech and we can go on and on about Privacy Acts. I have no intentions of either.
What I ask, is that we not embarass the man with these speculations. Please?

When I first reag the start of the original post I talked to his son who lives near me about Bobby. He said that he talked to him 2 days ago and he was fine and that it was false. Bobby is a alright guy and fun to be around. I also am one of those who hope he is ok.--Smitty

Yeah....some people.
You don't kick a guy while he's down, especially with insinuating comments like he made. I guarantee he wouldn't say it to his face, or if he did he'd be sorry. Bobby is a good guy who just made a few mistakes.

Probably the best in the world at drinking & playing.
Probably not a pillar of the community.
Won the tourney in P. Bluff when he was there and I think an super nice guy and always a good show.
I would love to play him again even just the way we played before, him 1-handed aganist me playing with 2 hands. He sharks good too, but I lke it.

Heard they matched up about 10 years ago in Nashville. They made an appointment to play each other, with Keith spotting Bobby the 7 on the 9-footer.
When the dust settled, Keith came out ahead 17 very big ones. The next day, Pickle wanted a rematch and they did it all over again, and Keith picked up another seven.
I have been told that Bobby is a good guy to gamble with. Whether he wins in resounding fashion or loses all of his dough, he does so with grace. He's also a lot of fun to be around, always seems to have a smile on his face.

My dad was going to JOBS a little more frequently early this year and knows Bobby. Always had nothing but nice things to say about him. Said he always chatted with my dad when they saw each other and was very respectable guy. I'm sad to hear about this and wish Bobby nothing but the best.
